I bought a used Case IH International 585 with a 2250 loader on it. The second day I was using the loader (pushing snow) the loader all of a sudden quit going down. Up and tilting up and down all work fine. I took the hose off that opeartes the loader going down and reattached it hoping the hose was loose but to no avail. I'm lost at what it could be. The previous owner said he had changed the hydraulic fluids and put a new filter on. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is the loader powered off the remotes? If so, I would suspect that one of the quick couplers is screwed up and only allowing oil to pass in one direction. Pop the couplers apart and reinstall them, and see if it makes a difference. If not switch the two over and see if the problem reverses. If you have a remote 2 spool valve there would be couplers there. Same senario. Try this and get back to us with more details and pics of valve if posible.

I'm back with some info that will hopefully help. The tractor has 2 remotes but nothing is attached to them. I took the hose off that runs the down motion for the bucket and put the hose on that makes the bucket tilt down. The tilt did not work when I did this nor did trying to put the bucket down. I tried hooking up the bucket down hose to both of the remotes on back but it still did not work. I also took off the return hose at the joystick and had some oil come out of it.... I can't put pictures up yet but will hopefully be able to Monday. Hope this makes some sense.

I forgot to mention I switched the coupling which runs the bucket down motion with the coupling that tilts the bucket down, still did not work.
