G sheet metal
According to the JD parts book, the GM and later G up through S/N 52175 use the same hood. After that, the internal brackets and various other parts of the radiator shutter controls were changed. G serial number help
I have a "G" that was shipped on October 30, 1948. By the information given in this thread, it would seem this tractor would indeed be a 1948 model. However, the Two-Cylinder Club serial # reference chart suggests 1949 and the chart on this site suggests 1948. Glad I'm not the only one confused...- AndrewM

70 Gas Flywheel
I purchased a flywheel for a 70 gas and have noticed it is somewhat different than others I've seen. I've attached a couple of pictures showing the differences.
