Anyone know the valve stem to guide clearance for a 1942 John Deere BO? Also are both intake and exhaust 45° valve face and seat angle?

Here's some valve specifications for model "B" tractors extracted from Field Service Bulletin 167-S, dated Feb 15, 1950.

Thank for the info. Is the Guide Inside Diameter of .377/.376 maximum or ream size of new guides? Looks like the guides on these are installed at the same height, intake and exhaust, unlike the later models?

Sorry - I can't tell you any more than what the specifications say. However, it appears the guide size should be the diameter of the guides after any reaming required to achieve that specified diameter range.

Thanks for the reply.

I found a manual that Dad had in a box of other manuals. Its the Tractors and Engines (General) Service Manual SM-2000. It has that chart in it and at the top it says "Ream to" and a line for BR, BO, and BI.
