    8n block question.

Looks to me like that could be fixed with a flat file. But it depends on how good the threads look lower in the hole. If you have a 3/4” length of good threads down in there I would certainly try it. BTW, if you didn’t hear compression going psst, psst out the side on every compression stroke...

830 Case Power Steering Pump Seal

Looks like a common Eaton pump per the Messicks parts diagrams, they show a seal available. Should not be to tough to replace if the shaft is not grooved to bad.

My suggestion to check for water in the rear axle gear lube was not directed at the problem with your hydraulic control sticking. It was prompted by the he amount of moisture on the shift rails in your photo. It looks like it is very possible there is some water accumulation below your gear oil...

IH 2504 missing rod bearing on # 1

I am sure there is plenty of garbage in the oil passages and you may be right that no. 1 rod may be getting no oil. He did solve the high oil pressure issue by getting the oil pressure control spool freed up, see link. Previous post On the comment about the oil hole being open when the rod is...

IH 2504 missing rod bearing on # 1

By a strange set of circumstances I actually have something like that. What I have uses a cutting blade rather than a stone. It must be intended for use on a fairly soft crankshaft so probably something really old. I’ll have to pull it out and post a pic of it.

IH 2504 missing rod bearing on # 1

Part of this is a very good suggestion. When you run it pull the injector line off of the no. 1 injector and shove a hose on it and direct it in a soup can or bottle tied on the engine. The bearing/rod will be way less likely to fail if the cylinder is not firing.

    Ford forklift problem again

I know you said it pretty clear, but TDC on compression means you turned it until it pushed pressure out of the spark plug hole and then you lined up the timing marks to TDC, do you agree with that? Then just get the rotor pointing to where number one plug wire terminal is in the cap. The...

    966 remotes not working

Sorry for the misdirection, barnyard do you have any of these 66 series tractors? Are you sure the position of the 3 point controls and the operation of the remotes have any connection on them? What tractor were you operating in the manner you suggested?

    Old gas tractor choice

Must have worked out despite all the misdirection he apparently got a tractor that wasn’t even in his initial list and seems to be happy with it, check out reply 26. Maybe that would have been an important reply to look for when a nearly month old post is revived. Then it might have been that...

    966 remotes not working

I believe the problem may be in your MCV valve but I am no expert, hopefully someone else will chime in that has some experience with these.

    966 hydraulic remotes

Just FYI, The Tractor Vet no longer posts on this forum. Usually tacking your problem on the end of another older thread causes more confusion than help.

    966 remotes not working

Hello js, welcome to YT! Only the remotes, or steering, brakes, 3 point and PTO as well? If all, the live drive spline in the clutch pressure plate stripped out. If only using one set of remotes and only that remote stopped check for one of the hoses not being completely plugged in.

IH 2504 missing rod bearing on # 1

Good luck, if you don’t change that rod the bearing won’t ever last 2 minutes. Well maybe a bit more. I knew of a very frugal semi-tractor owner operator, rod bearing went out on his truck. Laid under it a week filing and sanding/polishing on that rod journal. Put it all together went 5 miles...

Injectors not sealing in D206 cylinder head after copper cup replacement

Did you just notice this because fuel you bled out of the injectors got down around them and the compression pushing past them made it bubble? This is common and the carbon from combustion will seal it off given some time. I would run it a few hours, if you don’t see any black coming out around...

300 Steering question for Jim and Power Steering update

So you replaced the torque generator with a new one or rebuilt one? Mind sharing what the cost was and possibly the source? Even if it was eBay, nice to know when legitimate sales with a satisfactory outcome are made through that avenue as well. Don’t worry about the naysayers, they have to...

I would guess the software change caused that link to no longer work. I assume the post linked below is what you are referring to. I have probably replied to threads dealing with well over a 100 other tractors since then. You didn’t pull the right plug to check the area I was asking about. In...
