Massey Ferguson 175 top cover adjustments

Hey David, Yes. I do have a MF service manual for it. I don?t know exactly what happened, as I?m helping a gentleman repair the tractor, but for some reason, it ripped the lift cylinder free of the top cover. There are a lot of things that say someone else has been in there before. I have...

Massey Ferguson 175 top cover adjustments

Hey guys, Long time, no post. I'm working on a MF 175 that had a catastrophic lift cover failure. Is there anyone that can help advise on adjustments? I see there are special tools (that so far I have not been able to obtain).. Is there any feasible way around this before I spend...

    brake fluid

I have done it twice.. Once on a 83 ford pickup with a leaky p/s pump.. Truck was super rusty and tired, couldn't see putting a pump in it.. It seemed to work well enough, still seeped a slight amount, but got the truck through the last 2 years of it's life. Other time on a IH dump truck...

    I hated to do that

I'll send you a email.. I'd be interested in the axle (or whatever is left of the parts truck) if you'd sell it, if not already spoken for.. Don't really need motor, trans, etc.. Got most of that that, and extra. Brad.

    I hated to do that

Randy, looks like it might be 4wd, does it have a straight front axle, or the twin I beam? (For some reason I feel like I recall you saying its a f250 in a post once upon a time, which should make it a twin I beam front axle).. I'm amassing parts to "overhaul" my 86.. Have most of the things...

    1967 190xt

Pretty sure the 190 is set up the same as a 200, if I recall right. On a 200 the pto is left of the seat (while sitting in the seat), back towards the fuel tank, pushed forward is "on". Brad

Craigslist Ad Where You Can Only Reply By Text

I sell a lot on eBay and craigslist. I'm not strictly text, but I prefer it, and for a few reasons. 1st, almost every email I ever got through craigslist ends up being scam garbage, and I simply don't have time to waste. I have a full time job, as well as plenty to do at home without the...

    Detroit Diesel 2-71

I'd love to see/hear more about this build as it progresses. I have a 2-71 that's been in the corner for a few years now.. Have been debating putting it into something, just haven't decided what. Brad

    Power Steering?

There was a gentleman who posted here a while back (and was local to my area) who did add on power steering on a couple of his case tractors.. I recall he used a belt driven pump, but cannot think of what he used to make it steer.. Seems like he mounted a steering box off of a old car or truck...

Grain bins - what's the diiference...

Dave, sent a email with a phone number for my neighbor in the grain bin business. He may be able to help you with bolts. Let me know if you didn't get it. Brad

    Another bin question...

Dave, If contacting a dealer for a bin, look up Just Right.. I think he still advertises in the farm trader, but I'm not sure. He lives around the corner from me (I'm about a hour from your area in Michigan) and he's been known to buy and resell used bins also. He's been trying to buy the...

Cordless impact wrenches, Dewalt vs Milwaukee

I have Ryobi also. Bought the first of them about 8 years ago.. I have killed a couple drills after they went swimming (used to work around water a lot at my old job), but other than that, I think they are the best bang for the buck, plus I think they are up to 80ish tools that use the same...

    Torpedo heater

You may think this is nuts, but try to put a shop towel (or piece of furnace filter, or some kind of coarse slightly restricting) over the air intake end and try that. I have one (however a different make) that had similar issues. After a ton of parts, time, and trial and error, I somehow...

    tires

That is a size, in real numbers. To figure metric size (which is what I assume you are looking for), multiply tread width by 25.4, that is the width. Second number is sidewall height, which is a percent of tread width. Sorry, I couldn't find a calculator to make it easy. Brad

Tool chest - - feedback on recent purchases

Dang, I like that! Wouldn't work at my job so well, but here at home it would.. I hang wrenches as it is, and my wife (before we were married) pounded nails into 2x4 pieces for my sockets because she "was tired of digging through the drawers".. I'm actually painting and cleaning my little shop...

    First time useful welding

Old Arctic Cat?? I MIGHT have a few usable ski's over in the barn at my mom and dad's... They'd be off of a John Deere, but they will mount up in most cases, just use different wear rods (and since you have a welder I'll bet you never buy another wear rod again, just make em yourself). I'd be...

Tool chest - - feedback on recent purchases

I bought a Husky "top" box from Home Depot about 2 years ago when I started wrenching, It's not a very big box, 7 drawer I believe, and about 33" wide (its at work, and I'm not).. Paid something like $125 for it, and worth every penny, IMO. It has ball bearing slides with detents that keep the...

    Power King trailer tires.

Specialty Tire of America Super Transports. Have a set has been on our water wagon for nearly 15 years now. Dad does keep it inside, Carries 1000 gallons of water plus weight of wagon, puts about 50 miles (average 25 miles loaded, 25 miles empty) on it every 7-10 days all year long, and has...

    M- Bottom Cover under flywheel

I should have the sheet metal for around the radiator I'd sell reasonably.. I believe I have a junk radiator I could carefully remove it from (to save on shipping costs, since I take the steel off to scrap them anyhow). My email should be open if you're interested. Have a partially complete M...

    Grease Fitting

A tip about those "blue gloves".. If you're like me, you go through a half a box because every 3 minutes they burst open.. If I double em up, I can usually grease a whole unit before I ruin one, unless I catch something sharp. Don't know why it works, but it does.. Then I just peel the outer one...
