Gehl 1870 baler any good? Parts available?

as a small time hobby farmer, I’m looking to upgrade my equipment without breaking the bank. For the last little while, I’ve been looking for a good newer baler to replace my ancient Vermeer 605C I currently have. On Facebook, I came across a Gehl 1870 for $1000. It’s apparently in working...

At the time the diesel side stopped working, the tractor was in regular use. Like usually a few times a week. It’s been sitting for a very long time now but that was because of the issue

    Super WD9 manuals? Parts availability

I forgot to take a picture, but the first two digits were 69. I want to say it was 6914 Is there a reason why the rack would stick on it? The tractor was in very active use at the time, didn’t sit very long between runs. Also any way to free it up if that is the case?

    Super WD9 manuals? Parts availability

Today was a momentous day. I got back my grandfathers 56 Super WD-9 that he had back when I was a young kid. We brought it back home today, and once I make room for it back in our barn, I intend to get it running again. Back when I was about 9 I remember my grandfather trying to get it running...

Round baler rubber roller decorating DIY?

Hello all, In my quest to prolong the choice of forking out money on a newer baler, I’m looking to try and do a cheap fix on my old Vermeer 605C baler. The issue is the rubberized coating on both feed rollers and the belt drive roller are in pretty rough shape. The drive roller doesn’t like to...

830 Case transmission/clutch noise, possibly wrong oil?

Hey guys, So I have a case 830 comfort king tractor, diesel with the 8x2 2 range transmission with the hydraulic pump using the transmission oil, not a separate reservoir. Was cutting hay last week for the first time this season and ended up snapping the PTO shaft. I drained the oil, popped...

JD 1214 haybine cutter bar issues

So I bought this 1214 haybine and have replaced all the knives guards and washers, but with the guards tight the cutter bar binds and doesn t want to move easily. I have a manual for it and it says you can set the guards up or down to the knives onto the bottom and get a good shear cut but can t...

International 650 what s it worth

I have an incomplete 650 tractor in my hard taking up space, and was looking at getting rid of it. I ve got a guy interested and he asked the inevitable question of what I want for it. I then realized I have no idea what it s actually worth. I don t want to offend the guy asking too much, but...

    JD 1214 haybine oil

I picked up this 1214 haybine for cheap and am going through it before using it. I want to change the oil in it. I know the manual says to use Hy-Gard, but my brother can get me chevron AW hydraulic oil for a heavily discounted price. I know it s not a transmission hydraulic oil like hy-gard...

Is this a good seed drill to reseed grass hay?

So Im new to all of this stuff, its going to be my second year making hay myself. Repost:MF560/Vermeer 605C baler. Any good? Tips on runni

I remember back when I was employed by a farm equipment dealer demonstrating a Hawkbilt rd bundle roller to a prospective owner. It rolled hay on the ground with spring tension applied to tooth bars. Round bale hay balers have advanced tremendously in the last 40 years. Newer rd balers are...

Repost:MF560/Vermeer 605C baler. Any good? Tips on runni

I had posted this yesterday in the Massy section, but figured it probably belongs here better. Long story short, am starting my own hay operation, my father in law is giving me an MF560 baler for free. It was his backup baler to his 1560. Had new belts and a new chain put on before parked, and...
