    Silo for Saturday

You just tied off the trolley rope, you didn't use for anything else but lifting the hay and keeping the doors shut. That's such a big barn and so well maintained, I wonder what they use it for. I had ours reshingled and repainted 15 years ago, all it does is hold junk and a few bales of straw...

    Silo for Saturday

They had cables that were attached to the middle and you hooked them to the hay trolley when done very simple and easy. They swung down and pulled up. Just tied off the hay rope.

Relating to the root beer sign post....

Spring Grove Bottling, 13 varieties and use only pure sugar no fructose. I think the town has 1400 people. And a sales barn.

    Silo for Saturday

If you were actually using the barn for hay you would put the elevator door up a lot higher and in the middle. Or the the door is in the other end. My guess is they are just keeping it pretty.

    Corn drying

Farm fans our nemesis, not our brand. I get stuck fixing most of them, I very much dislike them. I know they are a good dryer but it's like a Ford mechanic working on a VW, both do the same thing only differently with no manuals or wiring diagrams.

    Corn drying

I started as one of my later careers in 2002 at 60. I am an electrician, I have been farming forever, had our own dryers for as long. Started kinda at the bottom and worked up. We go to service schools but mostly learn by doing and lots of calls between us service techs. Retired 10 years later...

    Monday Tractor Line Up 25/11

Nice line up, might need that vegimite sandwich. It would be fun if you could go and visit a country and rent a tractor and go on a tractor drive what great way to meet farmers and see the real country side. Better than an atv tour. What is the tractor that has the wind shield and beacon...

    Corn drying

I work all fall on grain driers, we sell them in sizes from 2000 bushels a day to more than 2000 bushels an hour. There are many styles and shapes. Almost all corn in the upper midwest goes through one taking anywhere from 10 points to 2 points depending on the year, planting date, weather'...

    Friday Harvest Scene 22/11

They only hold 28 ton, I would think they would be replaced by grain carts, bigger faster onload and mobile. Would maybe make good storage for seed?

    Friday Harvest Scene 22/11

My question also, looks like it would only hold about a truck load.

    Thursday Baler 14/11

Was that made by Ford or somebody else, all balers are pretty similar. I know a lot if implements were made and painted many different colors. I really do enjoy the puzzles and the commentary. Thanks Jim
