    550 pto

I had the same problem with mine. Just needed an adjustment. Would of been easier with 2 people though. https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?p=11054197&highlight=550+pto#11054197

    2-105 dash warning lights

If I was to guess, the nut holding the socket in place behind the plate has come loose allowing the whole light to twist. You probably are going to have to go behind the panel and look. Then I bet the red plastic cover will unscrew

    550 PTO adjustment

Will turning it clockwise tighten it up? I was thinking of slipping a thin piece of sheet metal under the adjustment ring to keep the pin depressed when turning it. (Never mind, just found it in the manual, clockwise tightens it up. ) This post was edited by Jstrenk on 06/02/2023 at...

    550 PTO adjustment

I need to hold my PTO lever towards the back to keep the PTO running. I can feel a little snap but it only takes about 2 pounds of pull to feel the snap. The manual says it should be around 40 pounds. Which way would I have to turn the adjusting nut?? Disengage : Engaged...

    Lost oil pressure yesterday.

Using a tap worked out great. Thanks for posting the direction! There is some funny wear patterns on it. Looks like I may need to get a new one. This post was edited by Jstrenk on 03/07/2023 at 01:34 pm.

This is great. :D I was just thinking how to remove the plunger as a magnet did not work and was contemplating using a tap and know I know the exact size I need. !! I found a replacement on the agco site but have to make a few calls to see how to get one.

Could the piston still be in the hole? Here is a picture.

    Lost oil pressure yesterday.

Is there supposed to be a ball in there or a piston of some sort? When I pulled the relief valve out all that came out was a spring and the cap. For sure what that spring(?) on top is. I found it laying on the floor after blowing some air through the opening. May of come out or...

Wow, that would of been the last place to look for a relief valve. Thanks for the picture.

Sorry about that it's a 1958 Oliver 550, Gas Engine. Just replaced the pistons and liners, Head resurfaced and valve seats installed. It was running great.

    Lost oil pressure yesterday.

The tractor was running great yesterday but when I idled the tractor down the oil light came on. I shut it off and a couple of hours later, we tried restarting the tractor. Still no pressure Put a gauge on it and no pressure was indicated. I dropped the pan to inspect the pump...

    Right tachometer for Oliver 550

I spread the arms apart and it's not slipping. Good so far. There is an o-ring on the new tach and it causes the gauge to sit up off the dash. Any reason NOT to take it off? As far as i can tell, the tach is completely sealed. Old Tach did not have an o-ring. I also installed a new...

    Right tachometer for Oliver 550

Great Idea! I know it's expensive but probably worth it. When I took the bulb out, a lot of black stuff came out. Looks like the old glass seal deteriorated. Probably stuck in something now.

    Right tachometer for Oliver 550

Yes, it just drops in, clamp and all. I was trying to avoid spreading the clamp arms, hoping a better solution. But I will try that and hope they don't keep spreading. Just notice there is no hole for the light either.
