    Oil Change Time.

Thanks for the advice, looked at the site and only thing I saw that looked close was $200.91. That's more than I paid for the tractor. I looked at the diagram and it mentioned hydraulic reservoir being in the torque tube. I said to fill it with TCH fluid. I don't think mine has any kind...

    Oil Change Time.

Thank you very much for this information. It will help greatly. Any idea where to get a manual other than Ebay? I am not that the most taken with on-line transactions involving my credit card. Thanks again.

    Oil Change Time.

It looks as if the torque tube (forward most gear box) looks as if it has gear lube in it now and the differential looks as if it has a lighter (certainly cleaner) oil in it. Also, it appears as if there might not be a pump in the differential (or not hooked up) as the line that goes into the...

    Oil Change Time.

H have some time today and want to do a little work on the tractoe (Case 530). Previously I took the filler plugs of the torque tube and differential and discovered oil is contaminated. One of the users (J Garner) kindly told me that the torque tube oil is 85-90 weight gear lube. There...

    Lubrication

I took the plugs out in the rear end. I found that in the front portion there appears to be some water as the oil is milky. I am guessing it came in through the shifter boot. I will change it, any idea how much I need? Also in the rear portion it looks as if there is a lighter oil which...

    Towing The Tractor

You could also rent a truck and put the tractor in it, just tie it down securely. OR just have a roll-off wrecker pick it up and chain it down and bring it to you while you sit in you lawn chair enjoying a beer. With cost of hitch, trailer rental, wear and tear on truck, gasoline, you might...

    Tires

Thanks, after inquiring about the price of foam I think I'll just fill the tire with slime and go with that. Thanks to all for the advice.

    Towing The Tractor

Be forewarned that U Haul is very touchy about the hitch capacity on the tow vehicle. Be sure whatever your hitch is its rated capacity is enough to pull the weight of the trailer and the tractor. You can find the weight of the trailer on their website.

    Tires

Anyone have any experience with getting a tire filled with foam? I have a rear tire that won't stop leaking. Thanks

    Lubrication

Thanks, I run out and get some TCH Fluid. Have a good weekend.

    Lubrication

Thank you, I'll have to crawl under it and see if I can distinguish the transmission from the hydraulic section. Would TCH fluid work in the loader as well? Thanks again

    Lubrication

I bought an I&T Shop Manual and I be darned if I can find the recommended lubricants in it for the engine, main transmission, hydraulic system, differential, or the w31 loader on Case 530. Is it just me (I even put on my reading glasses just to be sure) or is it missing? Can someone lend...

    power streeing

I have a Case 530 and it feels as if the power steering is barely working. When I got it it didn't have the grommets on the cylinder shaft where it attaches to the frame. I found some that would work at NAPA and It didn't improve the steering any, it just leaks power-steering fluid more...

    Adjust timimg

Thanks, I managed to set the timing with a light by tightening the screw just a bit and tapping the distributor. Now if I can only manage to figure out what has gone South on the throttle linkage. The hand lever moves about 45 degrees and the foot pedal moves very little, engine runs about...

    Adjust timimg

I managed to move the power steering hoses away from the distributor (530 gas engine)to see a bolt with a flat blade screw. Is this a part of the distributor holder (along with the 7/16th bolt in front) or a timing advance (rotates distributor) mechanism? Thank you for any advice you can...

    Urban/rural tractor

Recently saved a 530 from the blue flame wrench. Problem is the township I live in is more urban then rural so that tractor will have to spend lot more time on pavement. Will have to change at least front tires to something kinder to grass as well (but would like to also keep ribbed tires...

    530 Thermostat

Thanks, if that is the only one its gone. I can't believe they wouldn't stamp it on the frame somewhere. Where did you find that graphic? Sounds as if the spacer in mine is similar to the one you replaced. Thanks again.

    530 Thermostat

Thanks Jim and Joe. Do either of you remember what the spacer was made of? The one in mine appears to be a piece of exhaust pipe. Also, do either of you know where the tractor serial number is? My tractor appears to have all the sheet metal but I can not find the serial number the manual...

    530 Thermostat

I am changing the thermostat in my 530. Much to my surprise there was a thermostat (closed) in the upper radiator hose. A check of the manual seems to suggest that is where it goes. Has anyone seen this before? The reason for replacement was that the coolant temp was about 105 degrees...
