    Antique refrigerators, got one?

My old IH quit over 20 years ago it was late 40s or very early 50s model that my grandparents bought new. I think they got rural electric in 1949 so it was probably about that time that they got the refrigerator. The handle had been broken for many years and eventually it quit cooling so I...

    Loader mounting

I have a 340 DuAl and was able to lift a 1964 Dodge Polara with a leaning tower of power in it into my trailer. Chains through the window openimgs, lifted the whole car. More weight than it really should be lifting though!

    Another loader question

I'll bet 80% of older tractors with loaders are 2wd. They work fine. Of course 4wd would be nice but I've been using an M with a DuAl loader since my dad bought it in about 1978 and still use it. My main snow mover has been a Hydro 70 with a 340 DuAl for over 25 years and has dealt with ND...

    Loader mounting

I believe there was an IH 2000 listed but didn't say what mounts it has. Also a DuAl with 806 mounts but needs some work and a hydraulic control. Probably some others that would work too.

    Loader mounting

I see a few for sale in ND on our local buy/sell site bismanonline. There's even 1 or 2 that have 806 mounts but the loader isn't in perfect shape.

Time to let my tractor parts go, can't take them with me

No, nothing like that. Can't think of any in the area either. I had a 34 Studebaker. 34 Plymouth, a pair of 37 Buicks, a Model A, a bunch of model Ts and sold all of them along with some others. Still have a few others around but no early 30s GM. I know a guy who had an early 30s Buick almost...

    wrong color tractors

I have a parts M sitting in my yard and an IH 220 or 240 engine from a street sweeper in my barn. I was thinking I should put them together and put the narrow front from the street sweeper under the front of the extended M frame. Then paint it much like the aforementioned H. My tractor. Nice...

    Farmall H “Special “

I have 2 Ms with the wheels dished out, because I like them that way. I have one with the wheels dished in, because that's how the tires will fit within the width of the loader bucket and it will fit in the trailer that way. I couldn't give a rat sass about row crop widths because I don't farm...

    Got Tricked

My Metabo 4.5 grinder has been a good one. Pretty much as well made as my Milwaukee 4.5. My Makita 4 inch has to be at least 30 years old and still working. My cheap Menards Tool Shop only cost $10 about 15 or 20 years ago and worked well until the cord started fraying where it enters the tool...

    Gas tank cleaning

The last one I did was for a Cub Cadet with a 12 horse Kohler. I filled it about halfway with diesel and a handful of nuts and bolts. Then strapped it to my cement mixer and let it run for a few hours. Rusty fuel tank for an M I did the same but strapped it to the wheel of another M and drove it...

    This looks like fun

Happened to my dad's uncle. He had to learn how to play guitar with a finger missing on his left hand. Some chords were tricky but he was still a very good guitar player, along with several other instruments.

    scrap or restore?

I've watched some of your adventures in bringing back something many on this forum would have given up for junk. I applaud you for doing that. I've done it myself. Not everyone is planning on bringing an old tractor back to like new condition. Most of us like old tractors to be functional, not...

    scrap or restore?

I have to agree with Gpa L. If the engine isn't rusted solid to the point there's no hope of ever getting it loose and the cylinders are so pitted up it will never have compression, what's the harm in giving it a go? Sometimes it's more about the adventure and satisfaction of bringing something...

    Go-Jo original formula

Dunno...I don't buy it. We have 4 shops in our dealership group and this is what the company supplies for all of them. Looks like a 4 pack of 84 oz bottles is $143.

    Go-Jo original formula

Original Goop from Menards at home. It doesn't work quite as well as it did in the 70s and 80s, but still pretty good. Probanly lost a solvent or 2 over the years. At work we use Snap On Black Cherry with fibril. It works good.
