Massey Ferguson 410 / 510 fuel sending unit

Does anyone have a fuel sending unit for one of these or know what the ohm range are on them? I believe the part number is: 243662M91 I have one of the gauge panels I am using for a project and the aftermarket sender doesn't seem to work properly on it.

    LS 300 manure spreader.

Yes, that is an MM spreader. They were made by LH Schulz company and sold under the MM name. There was a model LO and an LO 135. I think Massey Ferguson might have had the same one sold under their name.

1949 Moline R proper engine timing to adjust valves

I just did my cousins ZA. I remember seeing there were two different specs for the R and the Z engines, mainly the older ones. Don't remember why they had different settings but that might be what the .012 and .014 settings were for.

    1209 mower conditioner question

A neighbor has a 1209 mower conditioner I was looking to buy. It has been sitting a while and one of the tires is bad. Is there any rim and tire assembly that will work on it or one that will work to at least get it home? It looks like a project, of which I'm not sure yet lol. Are they a 26 x...

Is it easiest to just remove the pistons with the jugs on a Ztu?

.008 cylinder taper was the maximum on the ZA engines. If you can find a place to bore them out redoing them is fine, but.... finding a place to do that now days isn't as easy as it used to be. Those places are few and far between. That is why most people just do a re-ring job on them since they...

Is it easiest to just remove the pistons with the jugs on a Ztu?

Yes, that is correct. R had a shorter stroke, ZA-ZBs were longer stroke. Just that the piston travel is different where the ring groove ends up being a different stroke. If you remove the ring groove you are fine, but hard to do on a blind hole block.

I believe the double torques were geared for slower speeds.

Is it easiest to just remove the pistons with the jugs on a Ztu?

Guess you got lucky. Using Z blocks on an R will work ok, but not using R blocks on a Z.

MM R and Z hydraulic questions

Yes, that is the Eaton brand hydraulic pump. When replacing the pressure hose that goes to the reservoir don't over tighten it by the pump as you can crack the flange it screws into. I believe the gaskets are still available for them. There is a flattened "O" ring on the pressure side and a...

    Minneapolis Moline grain drill

I thought it was some number like that. When were these made? Late 1960's I'm sure.

    Minneapolis Moline grain drill

I would grab it. That appears to be a very late model one. I believe they were the same as an Oliver. I don't remember the model number on these. Someone on the Oliver forum might have an idea.

Is it easiest to just remove the pistons with the jugs on a Ztu?

Not by that much. If it isn't used you risk breaking a ring or the piston. MM I believe, had a service bulletin on using an extra gasket for this purpose. I was also told this by a couple of guys who used to work in MM shops back in the 1950s and 60s.

MF 410 510 engine temperature sender question

I have a gauge panel from the 410 - 510 Massey Ferguson combine. Does anyone know the proper temperature sender for the engine and where to get one that will work with the gauge?

Is it easiest to just remove the pistons with the jugs on a Ztu?

If you do re-ring the pistons and don't remove the top ring groove in the cylinders, I have always heard to use an extra block gasket when reassembling. This raises the blocks up enough that the new rings don't hit the groove from the old rings. After you get the blocks on and tightened down...

Is it easiest to just remove the pistons with the jugs on a Ztu?

Just to add, if you do decide to do the cylinders, the bottom of the cylinders are tapered for installation of the piston / ring assembly. Just compress the ring slightly when you wiggle the piston and it will go in the cylinder, then do the next ring. The edges of the rings can be a little...
