Had the same problem. Wound reshaping the cable end on the old one and reusing it. Luckily the rest of it was good.

When I was a kid there were a lot of old guys missing fingers. Most of them in shingle mills.

MF12 Baler - How to Put in Baler Mode?

Once the latch releases and the baler swings a little you should be able to let go of the rope and it will lock in place in the baling position. I usually put a block in front of the tire to get it to swing all the way. There is some fudge room on the pto shaft but closer to spec the better. A...

    Best Logging Log Cut Lengths

I skid them out for my brothers woodmizer but my ground has no rock or noticeable sand. He sometimes peels the bark and hits them with a pressure washer if muddy, but that is a chore. Sometimes he grumbles a little but he does that anyway.

The problem ignore finally went away, seemingly on it’s own. Or maybe someone here did some voodoo. Anyway, thank you.

    EZ-Flow drop spreader

If the shafts are removable pull them out and check the engagement stubs on the drive ends. On a JD they can get rounded off and not turn when loaded. Fixable with some weld build up.

    Drum mower question

My fields are rough and steep and I farm with old equipment. Learned that running slow is faster.

    Well.......Hell!

Always keep some of those steel valve caps around for when the core starts leaking and no time to fix it right.

    641 vs 860

Surprised the original bolts are that small. When I got mine it had 1/2” bolts in sloppy, nearly stripped threads. Helicoiled plus lockwasher been fine ever since. Used on a baler for a few years after that. Definitely something to check.

    641 vs 860

I run a 6’ bushhog and 6’ box scraper on my 860. Handles it well. You can narrow down your swath in real heavy cutting. I automatically hold my knee against the gear shift in 3rd downhill .

    Cylinder liner puller.

Wish I would’ve known about this couple years ago. Helped do a 6 cylinder Perkins at work. Luckily found just the right size disc in a junk pile. Using all thread, running beads and lots of sound effects got it done but the tool you refer to would have been cheap. Lucky we didn’t destroy it.

    Unignore?

Tried. No go. Thank you. Late learner because I was never interested in internet stuff until I found out there was old tractors and old guns and old guys talking about them on here.
