    This is interesting, I changed fuel filters on a 180 with a 4-236 Perkins diesel, my hand pump only had pressure for the last 1/4 of lever stroke, is there a relation to the crank position for the hand pump to work better? we had a tough time getting mine running.

    Yep , oil pressure was 50 so I think I'm good , I will have to watch it probably would not hurt to run it a few hours and then change it. I would guess there was no filtering with that 1188 in there

    Thanks I'm going to install the 1183 , I assume the oil pressure is measured after the filter so if my oil pressure is normal I should be ok. Does that seem right?

    Yes it is a 4 cylinder diesel, thanks for the response I am going to install it and watch my oil pressure if is wrong I will have to change it later.

    I am changing oil in my 180 I purchased a 1183 oil filter recommended by napa,when I dropped the filter canister it contained a 1188, I pretty sure that is not the correct filter.
