    JDparts.com is only exploded view that I would have access to. Have you considered acquiring a 1640 tech manual? I'll suggest to reattach loose end of the spring before resetting RS housing onto trans case...

    Bar hitch for 800 series moldboard plow has more than 2 different part #s indicating there was a Cat l & Cat ll bar. Part # AA10809 & DA6207A but it doesn't state 3 pt pin size

    If tractor has a neutral start switch is it operating as designed? Ditto on checking operation of wiring with a test light or VOM.

    My '45 BO has the functional 3 way valve on it. Many years ago I operated it on diesel after engine reached 200°F operating temp just to see how it ran on diesel.

    You're welcome Leaving rate of drop screw unseated (CCW) I suggest to push 3pt control linkage(item 16) that has a roller forward while 3 pt control handle is pushed forward/down.

    Ditto on installing Corn head lube in gearbox. I've put CH lube in 2 different gearboxes with excelle4nt results.

    It appears from viewing photo of OP's tractor it appears to not have a scv IE remote couplers.

    2nd lever encircled in red is the load/depth control lever. That lever should be in position "D" for all 3pt operations exvcept when using grond engaging plows such as a moldboard.

    Both roll back trucks I used to pickup tractor/equipment back in '65-'87 while employed at JD dealership had double acting bed tilting cylinders. I think single acting cylinders to control tilt bed wouldn't be a good method.

    Loss of oil pressure could also be attributed to worn balancer shafts & bushings combined with worn rod & main brgs

    Simple test of FEL control valve to determine if it's set up for the 2155 closed center hyd system is disconnect FEL control valve ""return hose"" from your tractor & if applicable remove breakaway coupler or tip from this hose leaving return oil hose open, Cap orifice on tractor it no breakaway...

    FEL mounting bracket appears to fit very similar to a JD FEL mounting bracket. I'm curious if FEL hyd control valve had a closed center conversion plug with inner seal installed. JD 55 series utility tractor have a very good use history.

    JD hyd oil originally was named 303 but when government outlawed using sperm whale oil then name was changed to Hy-Gard. Over numerous years Hy-Gard spec's have been changed from J20A to J20B to J20C to present day J20D. Different additives has changed spec's over the years
