    The 1st 730s & 830s (1960) used a single stick, the same as the 700 800. They used a Shift Knob w/ the Pattern on the knob. Very prized today if you could ever find one.     I have never seen 1 melted. The Thermal Relief Valve Assembly consists of a Piston and Seat, O Ring, Spring and Ball. Excessive pressure on the circuit causes the spring loaded assembly to work against the spring and relieve some pressure. I have found the plastic pieces damaged, but never melted.

    I would have seen you got a CASE 0-30PSI Oil Gauge, CASE 0-20 AMP, both w/ Authentic Needle, and the TEMP Gauge w/ an Authentic Needle.

    I wouldn't be pulling the head until you get this fuel problem fixed. Mist at the injectors instead of a stream. Fix that problem 1st.

    There shouldn't be streams. The injector should stay closed until pressure is reached, then a pop and mist.

    "Small puffs of smoke"? Sounds like a fuel issue. Should be lots of smoke. The 188's are great starting diesels. When everything is right, including enough battery, a 188 will start in 5 seconds at 25 degrees F.

    Everything, including the brakes on the 8sp 930 and 1030 are the same. Some of the part numbers in the books are different from1 book to the other, but when I sub them, they go to the same number, such as the Ring & Pinion.
