    Plow Day in Ireland

Mike, Some were but also other makes were used. I have never seen plows with so many adjustments available. I am quite sure that they are only used for competition plowing and made especially for that purpose.

    Plow Day in Ireland

Here are a few more from Ireland. The second picture is of a loom in the Avaco Woolen Mills, next is a farm home along the Irish Sea and the next one is a typical small town with Mom and Pop stores. There are many miles of stone fences and narrow winding roads. At least a million Holstien Cows...

    Starting my summer project

Just finished a newer model this past year. Tyler was a great source for parts. It took a team effort but really turned out nice.

    A few Wheat Harvest Pictures

Frank, The load that you see sitting in line scaled in at just a few bushels over 1700. A little bit heavy for the six axle but legal on the seven axle. Most of that field was cut at two mile an hour or less with a 9610 John Deere. These newer wheat varieties are really nicer to harvest as all...

    A few Wheat Harvest Pictures

Steve, The six axle trailer in known as a nine quad nine. This all means that there is nine feet between the lead axle and the trailing axle from the four axles in the center. Both spread axles and the lead quad air lift. To turn you have the choice to turn it on three axles or four whichever...

This is one of the best kept secrets in the midwest. Absolutely first class. Even if you don't like cars and tractors the Country Club Grounds and Fifty's Diner is worth while to see and enjoy. We are bringing the equipment that we just had out in Waterloo, Iowa. Sure hope that all who can...

    jd cutter bar question

I have used the type cutter bar that you are talking about for several years and yes they will break once in a while especially in small grains like wheat. Normally the problem is the guards are worn out when they break. One needs to look at the ledger part of the guard and if that sharp flat...

    Upcoming MN trip...ideas?

It takes a farmer who likes to look at tractors to be able to see Minnesota on his way from southern Indiana to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I understand completely.

    Slowed down too late

Sorry about your loss Randy, I have known many like him. One neighbor I know for a fact that he went nineteen years without missing a milking and eventually sold his herd and did get some time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Not all are that fortunate. There are so many x factors in retirement...

    Deere 720 hydraulic pressure

Those tractors did not have the working pressure of the more modern tractors have. The relief valves open at 1450 to 1550 psi so to get up to 2000 working pressure would be asking too much. 1230 to 1300 will catch most later Waterloo tractors hydraulic remote outlet pressures.

    Positive ground battery again.

Will Rogers once said "Every one is ignorant, only in different subjects." I met a Doctor years ago on top of a high hill overlooking Acadia National Park. He had pulled off the side of the road as one of his front wheels had come loose ruining three of the five studs holding the wheel on his...

    dual spacing 4955

We have a 4850 and 30 inch would be the minimum for the tires to center in the row. They have the same frame so i would think that 30 inches is it. The front tires have to have room to turn and oscillate at the same time.

    Close Calls, near tractor accidents

We thought we were doing everything safe as we were unloading a large bag (tote) of seed beans into the planter auto fill system. Holding the bag on the loader tractor well above the auger my helper was choking the flow down as the bag would empty faster than the auger would take the flow...
