How do you fill LP tractors?

Probably as much gasoline is lost thru evaporation on a normal non sealed gas tank through a long period, but the LP won't leak anything after filling.

    2 banger hydraulics

I have attached some pics. The first two show the adjustable plug and the remotes routed thru the side. This would allow you to use the remote or rockshaft, BUT the remotes and 3 point aren't completely separate functions. I also showed OLD aftermarket parts, Baker valves, which can be used to...

    2 banger hydraulics

I will try to get pictures if no one gets them. My 60 and 70 have been set up for a remote OR three point with no plug swapping for years. Note the OR. You can only have one or the other. And if you use the remote, the 3 point will move at the same time. There is an adjustable plug that can be...

John Deere 60 Engine Petcock Install

My 60 has petcocks installed in the bottom of the block. I've used them but rarely. I don't think there would be any need to have a different frame

If your tractor diesels on shutdown, is there a chance your plugs are too "hot" of a range? Just thinking outloud. What plugs are in it?

The regulator is indeed on top of the generator. They are usually polarity sensitive so make sure you get the right one. There are cheap versions and more expensive versions. The cheap ones don't seem to last long. The expensive ones seem to do better. I honestly decided to go with an electronic...

The 620 was a 12 volt tractor anyway, though positive ground. If you have negative ground now, your gauge will not work, and in fact be toast if used negative ground (at least in my experience with hooking up 6 volt gauges backward). The only thing in your system to be 6 volt originally would...

new owner of a 620, will try to update this as we go.

The power steering system is all direct shaft driven so the loose belt is not your issue. There are a few adjustments to the power steering flow control and the control valve itself that may help your issue. It may be a combination of wear in the system that might not adjust out, but you don't...

Use Small 6 volt camera battery 4.5AH vs typical

Thank you very much, I totally missed those!

Use Small 6 volt camera battery 4.5AH vs typical

The generator would probably struggle to put out 10-15 amps. I will look up those batteries thanks

Use Small 6 volt camera battery 4.5AH vs typical

You're absolutely correct except the tractor is hand start and uses a magneto as well

Use Small 6 volt camera battery 4.5AH vs typical

I'd do that but I doubt they have 6 volts

Use Small 6 volt camera battery 4.5AH vs typical

I'll admit, I'm cheap. I have a tractor that will be setup with a 6 volt system that is LIGHTS ONLY with a typical generator. It is a cutout system. Is there any reason I couldn't use a farm store (game camera?) battery? Instead of a typical group 1. I also like that it will avoid leaking...

Sounds like you're narrowing it down, I hope it gets free for you without a lot of work!

    1939 JD D

The electric start parts should bolt right on, I've even seen it on unstyled Ds. If you go TOO early the red head indicator makes issues, but your 39 should be no problem as far as I know

JD D rear wheels locked up

The rear large cover is for most of the transmission, but the actual shifting gears are under the cover ahead of it and I honestly keep forgetting the styled Ds make that a bit harder to get to. You might be able to see the shifting gears while looking in the large cover...it's been a few years...

JD D rear wheels locked up

Visually it doesn't look like your parking brake is tight. It's not even hooked up. You say it won't shift into or out of gear. I think it'd be a good quick check to pull the top covers and make sure it's actually out of gear. Perhaps some visitor managed to get it into gear. Just in case? The...

Just so you know, the individual brakes were offered since 1936. Not many got them

JD D rear wheels locked up

Depending on the year it has an external parking brake that could get locked up. Since you mention dash it would be styled and the brake is external, below the flywheel Does it have a pedal? One pedal, three?
