    Farmall 656 tires

This set I found came off a 856 so I’m hoping the rims have the right backspace to fit a 656 front as well

What's your guy's opinion on electronic ignition

Can’t speak on longevity since ive only had mine for 2 years but ive dealt with 2 machines with them on and have liked them. I can go either way I just feel that the electronic is more simple. Downsides are it is expensive and I have heard people having issues with them if batteries get weak

    Farmall 656 tires

Thank you that’s exactly what I needed. I did some measuring and I found a set of 11l-15s on Facebook marketplace I’m going to try. Thanks everyone for the reccomendations

    Farmall 656 tires

It’s a wide front and will be pulling a small square baler with a wagon most of the time. The rears are steel disc wheels. I’m fine with getting new rims as one of them is bent anyway so I was thinking a set of 9.5l-15 or 11l-15 would be nice but I didn’t know what it would do as far as sitting...

    Farmall 656 tires

Have a Farmall 656 that has 16.9-34 on the rear and 6.50-16 on the front. I’m looking to put some wider tires on the front since I’m going to be using it for hay so I don’t want them to cut in as bad as these are but I also hate the look of pizza cutters on the front. I’ve looked at previous...

Rantoul Half Century of Progress Show

    John Deere manure spreader

Yeah that’s kind of my thoughts. Since it’s not super rare or anything I’ll probably just sell it for parts when I get it dug out

Rantoul Half Century of Progress Show

Not to hijack your thread glennster but I’ve never been over to that show and was considering going this year. Is it a show that’s definitely worth driving 5 hours for or what does everyone think of it Haykid

    John Deere manure spreader

I’m not sure of what beater was on it as far as I can tell everything but the very top little beater is completely gone. The handles look like they move in an arc sideways but I don’t have any handles anymore so I’m wondering if someone gutted all the drive parts and just used it as a fire wood...

    John Deere manure spreader

I’m all for keeping old iron around I just didn’t know if this had any parts worth saving or anything so I figured I’d check on here first. Now with the wealth of knowledge from all you guys it will definitely not be getting junked

    John Deere manure spreader

Does anyone know if there are still parts available to rebuild the floor chain and beaters?

    John Deere manure spreader

I have this old spreader that’s in the way in my barn and I was wondering if it’s worth anything or if anyone would even want it or if I should just junk it. Pretty sure the chain and most of the beaters are gone but I didn’t know if it was a rarity or anything Thanks Haykid

    Gas tank cleaning

I did a similar version of this but just jacked up the back end of the lawnmower put it in high gear and let it idle a couple hours. Knocked the rust out good then I used kbs fuel tank sealer kit that came with some cleaner that did a good job of taking the rest of the residue left in there off...

    Oliver red paint

Recently bought a heavy duty series Oliver plow I’m looking to restore and I was wondering if anyone knew what paint it would have been. I know it was red with green wheels but I can’t seem to find what anyone is using for Oliver red these days. Thanks Haykid

    Old Oliver 2btm plow

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know what kind of wear parts it would take. Are they universal to Oliver plows or how does that work. Sorry I’m very new to plows I’ve been around tractors and can normally figure most stuff out but I can’t find much info on these old implements

    Old Oliver 2btm plow

Can anyone identify the model on this plow and how much they think it would be worth. It’s on a local auction and I’ve always wanted a pull behind 2 btm for my Farmall h. If it went cheap enough I may buy it Thanks Haykid

Gas leaking out of the bottom of the bowl

I believe that is a drain for vaporized gas that settles back down when the engine is shut off when warm. Most updraft carbs had that and would drip when first shut off or at least mine did occasionally. If you have gas dripping from it constantly there is a good chance that your float setting...

    IH no. 45 baler

Yeah that’s kinda what I figured if I adjusted everything exactly by the book it should make a bale decently well. If it misses a bale every 20 bales or something it doesn’t bother me as long as it doesn’t miss every other one. I tried it with some straw last year and it seemed to do decent then...
