Thanks for the info. All the tools are easily accessible, though I’ll probably never need them. Dave

Closing a couple old threads—with pictures of the completed project

Last year, I posted some pictures of some lead soldering equipment I inherited from my father-in-law. More recently, I asked about cutting a piece of plate glass. What I wanted to do was make a sort of shadowbox to display the tools. I ended up using a couple pieces of plexiglass that I had...

    What is this Tool?

I have one. Bought it a long time ago in the clearance bin at TSC. At the time I thought it was kind of silly, but it has proven to be very handy. Dave

    Can I cut this glass?

Thanks for the input. I don’t think I will try cutting it myself. Hopefully I can get to this project on Thursday or on Saturday. If I do, I’ll post pictures in a new thread. Dave

    Can I cut this glass?

The glass was tabletop. Definitely not tempered—I’ve chipped several and broken one or two over the years. I may just get a diamond wheel and try it with water. I don’t absolutely have to cut it; I’d just like it about two inches narrower. I have only $1 invested in it, so I’m ok if I try...

    Can I cut this glass?

Can I cut a strip off the long side of this plate glass with a standard cutting wheel on a 4” angle grinder? It is 1/2” thick and 52” long. It is not tempered. Thoughts on heat? Any concern about fumes? Dave

Update to Super C VR, and a new question

Thanks for that link. I have a couple old YT pages open with info on the ammeter wiring, and now that is one of them. It may be a couple weeks before I get back to it. As I recall, it was pretty easy to see the wiring once the battery is out of the way. Dave

Update to Super C VR, and a new question

Yes it sure sounds like it is wired incorrectly. I rarely drove this tractor before i inherited it, but I really don’t recall the ammeter ever reading positive. I probably would not have noticed it if it had. I don’t know how soon I will get back to it, but I will look it over and report...

Update to Super C VR, and a new question

The battery voltage stayed the same, running from7.1 up to 7.3 when the lights were on.

Update to Super C VR, and a new question

With the engine warm and idling about 75% full speed, the volt meter connected to the battery posts reads 7.14 and runs up to 7.30 in about five seconds. Then it drops to 7.14 and rises again to 7.3. Over and over…. It appears that the Load side relay briefly opens at the 7.3 mark and then shuts...

Update to Super C VR, and a new question

I finally got back to adjust the voltage regulator on the Super C. This was the original post: Thread 'Super C voltage regulator question' https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/threads/super-c-voltage-regulator-question.1768290/ I tightened the spring tension on the relay that sends...

    Cows, cords, and chewing

This is what I do for the horse troughs Similar to what RESLLS described. His U shaped version would allow you to cover the entire cord. None of my joints are cemented. Makes it easier to get the cord through. Dave

The answer is most likely in the codes. I’ll be interested to see how you resolve this. Maybe camshaft position sensor. Dave

In praise of LED lighting for older tractors!

Can you tell me exactly where you bought the bulbs? I’d like to put them in my M and in my A, but I don’t want to do any legwork trying to locate them. I’m just a little lazy in this case. Thanks in advance. Dave

Can a 350 handle round bales?

No specific loader or three-point attachment in mind. Just wondering if, in general, it would be big enough. Doesn’t look like it would be. Thanks for all the input everybody. Dave

Can a 350 handle round bales?

It’s one the kids are looking at to buy. I did tell them I would not have it without power steering. Thanks for the input. Dave
