    Personally, after having two episodes of flood, I'd go with a brass hose barbed fitting if available. The hot water, heat gun, propane torch idea sounds like a great addition to fixing the problem. jmho good luck, gobble

    RTR, go to your local bldg supply and purchase a concrete gridder that fits on your four inch grinder. Angle that concrete down from the door line, give it as much angle as you care to grind. Then cut the bottom of your door jamb and trim off a quarter inch or so and caulk with silicone caulk...

    I too have seen them advertised and marveled at how they worked. There are times when the hot wrench,(acetylene/oxy) just is too much or too dangerous, but with their price tag and the few times it seems I need it, I have passed on purchasing.     You probably won't see hail damage on your neighbors house from your house, or even the ground around his house. Hail produces divots or depressions in the roofing material, it stretches the material and creates a weak spot. the granular material will be loosened but not fall out immediately...
