On the side there is a small Rectangular cover that is held on by two small flat head screws. When I remove that I get a lot of diesel. It just keeps running out.

    Super C no power problem

As already stated the most common cause for your symptoms is the coil. Read the fine print. Some 12 volt coils are “12 v with external resistor”. Running one of these on straight 12 will react as you described. Run for a while and then shut down.

282 Diesel Shut Down and Will Not Start

I have a friend with a 282 diesel in a Galion grader that when I first saw it a few years ago I thought that engine looks familiar. After a couple minutes I was pretty sure I was looking at the same 282 used in the 560 and early 706. The other day it just shut down and will not start. I have...

    1086 overheating

Does it use coolant? Could be a headgasket leaking. Check the temperature of the lower radiator hose when it is heating up. If it is normal then that would indicate flow issues. Find someone with an Infra Red temp reader is the best way to read surface temp.

    400 crankshaft gear removal

All we ever do is put a gear puller on it and then heat it slightly and they come right off. It may be possible you can heat more and it would fall off but I am fearful of removing temper out of the crankshaft so I always err on the side of caution.

    Thermostat housing bolt stuck

It has been my experience with steel bolts in cast iron is that steel expands more than cats iron when heated. Without fail I have always been able to heat up the cast iron and then let it cool to room temp and the bolt will screw right out. If there is too much cast to heat up then just blow...

Did you check the coil? I have had customers that can start their tractor and only keep it running shortly due to a bad coil that heats up right away.

    MW live power

I have an M&W live power for a Super M that someone asked me if it will fit a regular M. It appears that the housing will bolt right onto an M and that they made an adapter plate for it to fit a Super M. But whether the internals are the same or not I do not know. Anyone out there smart...

    Pistons

I have a Super M I bought recently with an 8060 head on and 4.126 IH fire crater pistons in it. It has an even 120 PSI compression which with the info I have found sets it at about 8:1 compression ratio. I have read that the 281 head would take it to 9:1. I was wondering if anyone has tried...

LOL Nothing on an M is "serious" when you couple my background with my Dad's. I work on automated manufacturing equpiment and he used to work on diesel trucks with his specialty being transmissions.

    Wiring on an M. Help

The Big wire goes from the battery to the starter button. Then another big wire goes to the starter. The 10 gauge wire goes the post on the starter button for the big wire coming from the battery to the amp meter. ALL accescory power goes through the amp meter. On the other side of the...
