    Ball joint rubbing tire

Myk 1655 has 11L16s on the front. The tires won't go on with the rim facing the way you show. That side has to face in. It was set up that way when I bought it. I've run it 25 years now with a loader and no problems. And 11L16s were a factory option so they may very well be original rims.

    Ball joint rubbing tire

The tractor was built to be run that way. There's nothing industrial about that loader. Just a good medium size ag loader. I have a heavier loader than that on my 1655.

    Ball joint rubbing tire

Super 99 nailed it up above when he pointed out that the rims are mounted backwards. You need to realize that the middle of the rim around the holes is not centered in the rim in terms of width. There is more width of rim on one side than the other. When the surface of the rim with those humps...

    Ball joint rubbing tire

That's possible. I bent a spindle in a deep rut years ago. It changed the angle and moved the top of the tire in closer.

    Ball joint rubbing tire

Same as my 1655 loader tractor. 11L 16 on the front. Came that way when I bought it.

    Olivers so different

The parts book doesn't give any explanation for the different lengths and any engine differences. The two shorter ones default to the same replacement parts number, so they must have decided the difference between the two was too small to matter. No idea why the third dipstick is so long. I wish...

    Olivers so different

The parts book gives OAL-Overall Length, which includes the top section.

    Olivers so different

Just got around to adding this. My 1650/1655 Parts Manual shows three different dipsticks. OAL 11.5 inches. Part # 156 165-A (order 157 974-AS) OAL 11and 7/8 inches. Part # 157 562-A (order 157 974-AS) OAL 13.5 inches. Part #157 911-A Do any of those numbers match up to what's stamped on your...

    Olivers so different

Your dipstick may be from a different engine. My 1655 dipstick shows full with only seven and a half quarts instead of the listed eight and a half or nine quarts. Eventually I checked the serial number stamped on the dipstick with Maibachs and they said it matched up with the 310 Waukesha diesel...

question on a super 55 diesel serial number

    Right. 1955 Super 55 serial numbers ran from 11 837 thru 31 370

    4-270 Serial Numbers

Those number breaks agree with the ones in the Larry Gay book.

    Hydraulic Filter 1850

Reading this thread has me a little bemused. I've had an 1850 since 1981, and a 1655 since 2000, and a 2-70 since 2014. None of them has ever had a spring inside the hydraulic filter cover. Learn something new every day.

    1650 decal?

I'm 75. I'm still throwing bales and bucking firewood. On the other hand, I've torn my sacrum loose at least four times so far, and it always takes three months to stabilize afterward. And that level of dead lift is what seems to do it. So I avoid it at this point.

    1650 decal?

Some years ago I removed the grill on my 1850 to make it easier to take the radiator off. I drove the tractor up to the workbench in my shop. The bench top was within an inch or two of the grill base. I walked the grill onto the bench, and back onto the tractor when I was done. I didn't want to...

    Oliver ID help request

The serial number makes it a 1957 tractor. The catch is that the Super 77 and the Super 88 had almost the same serial number range for that year, so I can't give you the model from the serial number. For that you need someone with a reference source for the model numbers.

    Oliver identification

According to the book I have, that serial number makes it a 1953 Row Crop 88 (Fleetline).

    Transmission Codes

The serial numbers in the Larry Gay book confirm your 1655 as made in 1971. Mine was made in 1969.

Oliver 1650 high speed serial/model numbers

Years ago I had an 880 with a slow transmission. "Barely 12 mph" would be about right. It was way slower than the Super 88 I had at the same time.

    Transmission Codes

Talk about a can of worms. Some years back I sent for the build cards for my 1850 and 1655 which also included sheets with the build card codes. I'm going to list some numbers from those sheets. The 1850 sheet says: Oliver "50 Series" Build Card Numbers. There are 37 different transmission...

    Brake locks on 1550

My 1850 has that style brake lock. When the brakes are depressed, two u-shaped pieces with notches rise up through two holes in the floorboard. When pulled backward the notches engage the little piece of sheet metal bolted to the floorboard. That set up was never fool proof on my 1850. Sometimes...
