    Ford 5000 Diesel Select-O-Speed

Be very careful bypassing a neutral safety switch on a Select-o-Speed tractor. Good way to be killed or maimed for life. Or any machine for that matter.

    1978 Massey Ferguson Clutch issue?

Clutch Disc failure. You should have a plate on the bottom of the clutch housing. Remove it and take a peek inside with a light. If a lot of dust and debris are there then, that would be a sign of the problem.

    Ford 5000 Fuel Pump Identification

Fuel leaks on a diesel engine are hard to see sometimes. First thing to do is clean all the grease and grime off the engine and pump using a good degreasing product or steam cleaning it. Then a good light and mirror might help you find the sources of any leak or leaks.

    Ford 5000 Fuel Pump Identification

That is a later CAV pump. Earlier tractors used a Simms pump. The earlier style pump was an inline pump with a cam box that carried oil. The oil was supposed to drained and replaced whenever the engine oil and filter was replaced. This later pump is a rotary style pump thus, no oil service...

    Jerking 3 point ford 3000

Air trapped in the hydraulic system. First, make sure the oil level is correct. Then bleed the system at the hydraulic pump. Getting the air bled out will stop the jerking of the lift arms and possibly help the speed of the lift. The shaft seal in the pump may be the source of the air getting...

Ford 5000 replace broken pto output shaft.

I have changed out more than one of those snapped output shafts over the years. Easily changed from the rear if you are careful in your work. I have a wrench that i slightly bent to reach the castellated nut on the shaft. Also before pulling the cotter pin completely out run a piece of wire...

    How to spread sawdust?

My dad used to use rotten sawdust years ago to help raise potatoes. He would lay off his rows with a plow and spread the rotten sawdust into the bottom of the row. The seed potatoes were then placed on top of the sawdust and then covered with soil. He always used a garden mule to layout his rows...

    Allis-Chalmers B?

If you have a Model B the serial number starting with the letter "B" will be stamped on a flat area just to the rear of the gear shifter. Get that info and go to serial number section on this site. There you can find the correct year of the tractor.

    3000–clutch ??

That clutch and pressure plate shows sign of excessive heat. Heat equals wear. I think a new clutch kit is required.

    Ford 4000

Not necessarily. Someone could have replaced the sheet metal with 4000 parts making your tractor an original 861. Or your tractor may have a transmission swap using an 861 tranny in place of a Select-o-Speed that may have been bad in the 4000. All kinds of of swaps and paint jobs have been done...

Replace just ac compressor or all components?

On a 13 year old car i think i would just replace the compressor clutch if, the compressor was proven to be ok. If the compressor was bad then at the minimum flush the system and replace the dryer and the compressor. I believe a warranty on the compressor requires the dryer change also.
