    LS Tractors

I have a LS 33 hp hst that I bought new in 2012, to go with a JD 950. Both are used extensively from February to October in a commercial vineyard. The LS is usually the tractor of choice for the field crew, as it’s more comfortable to operate than the older JD. I am consistent with regular...

    locking pliers

I bought one of the Bremen pliers to try out, and have been impressed. I plan on getting a couple more in different configurations. This is coming from a guy who doesnt really like the HF cheap tools, and wont pay the price for their higher tier tools.

New to me LS 5055 tractor

I have an LS 3033. I bought it new in 2012, so its a tier 3, no computers. It has about 1900 hours on it, and never has had any issues, or been back to the dealer. I use it in my commercial wine grape vineyard, and it has many different jobs to do each year. I am lucky, 3 dealers in reasonable...

    Caster wheel

I bought a solid rubber wheel from High Grade Mfg. to replace leaky pneumatic tire on a finish mower. I used and abused it, and it held up well. I think this style of tire might do well for your situation.

    Pick a welder

I have 3 welders, stick, Hobart handler, and my favorite is a Yes brand stick/ mig combo that was less than $400 bucks, and has consigned the other two to the back shelf for the past 2 years. I am like a lot of the other self taught welders on here, it might not always be pretty, but I am...

    Need Advice

I have 2 Evolution saws, a metal chop saw, and a sliding mitre saw. Highly recommend the brand, still on my first blade on the 14 inch chopper. Once you get one, youll wonder why it took you so long to pull the trigger. ( no pun intended)

A thought on earlier thread, Hard labour on the farm

[I own a commercial vineyard, on harvest day, I carry loaded buckets of grapes up and down the hill to the trailer, for all the women pickers. That is usually a 8-10 hour day. It is flat out exhausting. I pay their young children to do it if they can handle it, but usually, if they are that...

    Pulling a MF 165 diesel

I might give some thought to a roll off if you havent hauled heavy equipment before. A lot can go wrong between the chaining and the hauling if you dont do it right.

    TPSM? Tire pressure monitoring sensor

I never heard that before either Goose, but I just had my first one go bad in my 2012 Honda. Tire guy wanted to replace all of them at $60 each, I said no thanks, just replace the broken one.

    tractor for home use

I have a 33 hp LS that I bought new in 2012. It gets used nearly every day in a commercial vineyard from February to mid October. So far, it has been bulletproof. Also, LS makes utility size and smaller NH, Farmall, and Case IH, not the other way around.

    Corn Crib Assemble/Disassenble

In the area I live, we dont use corn cribs. The corn in this area is used as sileage, or to a cannery for human consumption. I cant help but wonder why any corn that was stored in it wouldnt get damp and mildew would ruin it. Also, why arent birds and other animals eating the corn as fast...

OT - Anybody here grow grapes?

Agree with your brothers method Riches Toys, with the exception of fertilizing of the grape plants. Fertilizing grape plant causes more vine growth, and more vine growth brings a plethora of late season secondary grape clusters that will not ripen in time for harvest. All that new growth...

OT - Anybody here grow grapes?

I grow about 3200 wine grape plants on my place, so here is what I would do if I was in your situation. Prune plant to one single stem, till it gets to about waist high, then tee it out with one single lateral in each direction, your plant forms a tee. Remove all suckers on the trunk. Set...
