name or number of the Gentleman that pulls wk40 from ILL

I need a flywheel and starter. I had been told all of the 40s had a ring gear on the flywheel, not true. Mine has the starter hole, but no ring gear. When i chatted with Jim, he had to pull with a stock block, but had several red diamond truck engines for the cranks. i figured he would have a...

    430 Case pto questions

looked at a 430 tonight, just an over under trans, pwr steering, pto runs all the time, enough pressure to spin a brushhog whether its engaged or not. Doesnt seem to have live power, What needs to happen to fix? decent rubber on back, car tires on front, straight sheet metal with grills, pretty...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

Thanks for all the imput, these are all great thoughts and suggestions, no i didnt take out the plugs, i understand about working against compression, this is beyond that. If it was a new engine then i could see this kind of friction and compression fighting back. At 2300, im into it more than i...

Pwr Steering Cyl For An Allis 615

Evening, i have what i think is a 615, its the backhoe version of the d-15..i need a steering cyl for it and wondered where the best place to get one would be. I bought a 2x14 for it but the barrel length is to long at 18.5 inches to fit in between the wishbone, if i get a 2x12 i think the...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

Update, i am able to turn the engine with a wrecking bar through the starter hole but its very tight. I did remove the pto shaft and i did not try the bar over method with it in, the power booster clutches do disengage, so now im pretty sure its engine related. I will pull the pan off and see...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

Its a gas tractor, and yes, its the power booster or "dry" torque. Its not the over under hydraul shift. I think in most of the world they know them as torque amplifier, rather than specific names from the manufacturers, such as all the differing names for limited slip differentials, from...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

For those that have suggested pulling it, i let it roll on the ramps unloading and let out the clutch and it stopped cold, no movement, so whatever the problem is, its very tight. Thats why i havent dragged it with another machine. i will probably know the good or bad after this Sunday.

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

This is all great information and i appreciate all the differing thoughts and avenues. It always helps me think about the best way to attack a problem with my time, space and limited knowledge. I am thinking that next step is to pull the pto shaft just in case it is the pump, like i said its...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

Yes i read with interest the issue with your 1600, i had thought of it being in 2 gears also but it rolls fine with the tractor in neutral, or in gear with the clutch pushed in. I think the old guy might not have told the whole story, so will probably do as said and pull the pan and see whats...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

thats a good question, i have no clue,. my thoughts are when they got in to do the clutch(this was at a shop) they told him it had oil on the old one and upsold him a rear main. There are also what looks like new clutches in the torque. i took the starter out tonight, no go, removed the pto...
