    Thanks. I tried googling a basic chart yesterday and could not find shaft dimensions to verify yoke measurements. I like to double check because depending on the product measurements can very to a tiny degree influencing what needs to be ordered. The solid shaft is 1 inch square.

    I had the 1972 White full line brochure. Had both Oliver and MM tractors plus the implements were in red. I spent many nights looking at the 1555 as an elementary student imagining it would show up at the farm the following afternoon. It never did. I don't recall any White tractors in silver...

    Champlain Valley Equipment took over for Empire Tractor and is the dealer here. That aside if I knew the manufacturer of the driveline that would open up more sources than NH to get it from. I knew years ago but forgot.

    Does anybody know who the supplier was for PTO parts? Weasler supplied some parts to NH in general but there was also another supplier. Trying to find a U joint and tractor end yoke plus keep it original if possible.

    The later IH gas tractors require a high octane alcohol free fuel (gasoline). If such a tractor is owned then the owners manual will have a recommendation for that along with engine oil that should be followed.

    Serial number for JD 301A

    As stated in my prior post the serial number should be located proximate to the RH axle housing facing to the front of the tractor. Tractor data should come up with a year based on that information.

    Might want to post this on the JD board where someone such as TX Jim could recommend a substitute engine. Serial number should be near RH axle housing facing forward.. I'm thinking that a 179 out of a 2240 might fit but will defer to others with more experience.

    I was there when the gates opened. Saw the 2510's. Saw 1010's and 2010's although not many. No 4010's so maybe I should have brought mine. Looked the auction stuff over and saw nothing that I wanted so I left. Probably go back up Saturday for the seminar on the 4010 with a friend and see...

    I've only talked with the management end of the processing plant. They will not contract to plant vegetables on anything other than light loamy soil as the season if dry can cause a bitter taste in the product.

    John Deere 4440 ran low on engine oil

    A 3 gallon overfill would be very significant in a 4440. May not notice on a 20 degree day pushing snow but filler cap and tube would be dripping oil on an 85 degree summer day. At least that is what I was told.

    But the ear would still be vulnerable to significant damage. If you are selling to the general public you will get complaints. If you are selling to the state prison system then not so much but the cons would still reach out to their lawyers about cruel and unusual punishment.

    That is a large part of it. Also, the plant loses control of harvest quality when their crews are not in the fields. No doubt lesser quality gets labeled differently than premium product but that still means time needed to switch the labeling machine and start a new batch on the production line.
