    Bye bye 8N!

Got rid of my last 8N! Graduated to a 860 Ford and an IH T340. You all know what an 860 looks like. Anyway I'll still peak in from time to time. Rick

    Ford 860

Got the governor pulled off the 860. It's the ball type with typical "old as it is" wear groves in it. Anyone know a source for a rebuild kit or the whole governor? I can find the flywheel type. Just not the ball. Thanks Rick

    Old Bobcat/Farmhand M200

Depends on the year model. Some of the early ones has a one cylinder Wisconsin and others had a Twin Onan. The Onan was a CCK 12.5 HP. Possible that someone swapped out the original engine. The first Bobcat is or was at the museum in Fergus Falls MN. Interesting contraption. Rick

    Driverless Big Rigs

Cruise and Tomahawk missiles fly sub sonic. But they can be programed to fly NOE for a long ways so that they can strike a target with little or no warning within a couple of inches. So yea driverless trucks are in the future. At first they will keep a driver in them to take over in the event...

Is there a limit to the height of a pickup?

It ain't your vehicle. You don't have to like it or be happy with it. The owner does. Lifting or lowering does effect the physics of the vehicle. Past a certain point it's altered to a point of stability issues. The thing is unless you significantly raise the height of the axle you don't...

    550 Ford backhoe

You shouldn't be able to spin the tires on a TLB. And the 550 diesel engine is only 59 HP. You take something that heavy, 11,400 pounds, and 59 HP? Spinning the rear tires might be a neat trick. Putting extra stress on the rear axles by drastically increasing HP may cause you to break an...
