    Open flow dual air chuck.

I have a new Harbor Freight Merlin tire inflator with an open flow dual foot chuck. It will not air up tires because air blows out the opposite chuck. I removed the pin from an old, closed flow ball chuck and put it in the unused foot of the dual chuck. I haven't tried it yet, but the question...

    Question about pallet racking.

I have been lucky to find 30" wide uprights, 8' high. I cut them down to 92-1/2 to fit nicely in an 8' container. 4" beams are set about 20" apart with 4 levels, none on the floor level. Used 2x6 and 8's are the shelf for each level. I stick with light 8' beams No forklift use. Here on the left...

    Modem repair

I bought a used Xfinity Modem SMCD3GNV. The cable connector is bent down at about 30*. I would like to open it to see if any damage has been done. I removed all screws I can find; the front panel is free but c<brI >still can't remove the internals from the case. Any ideas? Thanks, Slowpoke

    Modem repair

It costs too much to go to Reno or Las Vegas, so I gambled $2.50 at a thrift store. Maybe it will work OK, but I am just curious see what's going on inside.

    Rusted out floor pan

My '97 C1500 Chevy came from Illinois and is full of rusty cab sections. The driver's floor has a hole about a foot square. I can order a new section to replace the floor, but don't want to weld because of all the glass, door panels, dashboard, headliner, etc. that can be damaged by sparks. Has...

    Rusted out floor pan

DaveG 9n: I expect to use a commercial metal stamping with pop rivets and sealant between the two. State only checks for emissions every two years in California.

    Rusted out floor pan

I have seen several sites that do not recommend it for floor pans. Seems to me if it works on other panels, it will work there too.

    Rusted out floor pan

Since the truck is not any kind of classic, I might just go with aluminum pop rivets. Much less cost.

    Removing sheet metal screws

I finally had to use a low LP torch flame on the exposed underside of the screws. The screws were locked in the plastic and the heat softened it enough to release them.

    Removing sheet metal screws

OT: On a 1997 Chevy C1500 WT originally from Illinois, I need to remove 3 sheet metal screws from the driver's door sill to access the shift cable. One head broke off, and 2 are cammed out. WD40, Blaster, and vinegar have no effect on the frozen screws. A Vicegrip used on the underside of the...

Not much trouble with seat bolts but needed large pipe wrench initially for seatbelt hold down bolt. Last screw is under it.

Echo SRM 2100 straight shaft trimmer

I need to replace the C1U carb as the original will not return to idle for several seconds and trimmer no longer starts even after cleaning. The problem is I can't find the old gaskets I removed so I don't know how they {it} compared to the new. Was I sent the wrong gaskets or am I missing...

    Chevy steering wheel repair

My 1997 Chevy C1500 WT steering wheel has deteriorated at the air bag finger rests. The rubber is kind of sticky and rough. I am wondering if the previous owner had some skin problem or what. I was thinking of trying some spray on like Flex Seal or rubber undercoat. Any ideas appreciated...
