    C5NN3307J Early Drag Link

I'm looking for the C5NN3307J drag link which was used from 1965 through early 1970 for my 1968 Ford 4000 3 cylinder with power steering. In 1970 they changed something and went to a different part number. Does anyone have any leads on the C5NN3307J? Also, does anyone have any idea what was...

    C5NN3307J Early Drag Link

I ran the serial number and it showed 1968. But it's always possible that previous owners could have changed lots of stuff.

    C5NN3307J Early Drag Link

The ball joint part at the rear is worn and causes it to wobble. It does fit the pitman arm good but the actual ball joint portion is worn. I'm afraid it's going to pop out one day. At the rear the ball joint doesn't appear to be replaceable. Also, even though my tractor is a 1968 4000 I do...

Ford 4000 Quick Attach Loaders Front Pump

I have a 1968 Ford 4000 row crop tractor and have mounted a front hydraulic pump to have better hydraulics in place for purchasing a loader and/or backhoe attachment. I'm only interested in quick attach (for quick detachment from the tractor). What are my options for quick attach loaders that...

    Ford 4000 split

This is not a Select-o-Speed transmission so I've been told my 8 speed manual has the PTO brake in it. Can be viewed through one of the left side covers but not replaced through them. PTO brake being Item #22 on the attached schematic.

    Ford 4000 split

Looks like I will have to split my 1968 Ford 4000 diesel with dual range 8 speed manual transmission. I have a couple of hydraulic fluid leaks at the rear transmission case to center housing gasket, and the pedal shaft gasket. I'll also replace the PTO brake during this time as it's never...

I finally broke down and bought a piece of hardened steel from www.metalsdepot.com the piece was R2112-1045 1-1/2" C1045 TGP shafting. It just came in today and it fits perfectly with a tiny tiny bit of play. vizi That website allows you to order a custom length so you can get the pin...

    Ford 4000 Axle pin troubles

I left a message asking them to verify the size before I order. I'll keep you posted when I know for sure that it's correct. Unfortunately, the company hasn't returned any of my messages so I'm wondering if the business is closed. I wanted them to verify that it's a 1-1/2" diameter pin before...

    Ford 4000 Axle pin troubles

Anyone know what hardness the rear pivot pin should be? I've found sources to purchase one to be welded in but have no clue what level of hardness the original pin was.

    Ford 4000 Axle pin troubles

I found a used axle beam with good pivot pins on it. But I wanted to post the size of the rear axle pin so others could reference it. The pin is 1.5 inches in diameter (an inch and a half) and it is 2 3/4" inches in length. However I suspect a 3 inch long pin might allow a little extra pin...

    Ford 4000 Axle pin troubles

Can any of you tell me the outside diameter of that rear pivot pin? I need to begin looking for one. The entire axle piece is difficult to find and quite pricey if found. Thanks in advance.

Ford 4000 PTO brake (an external fix)

Can anyone provide a photo looking down into the transmission with cover removed showing where the PTO brake can be accessed without splitting the tractor?

    Ford 4000 Axle pin troubles

I took a closer look at the diagram and it appears that both the front and rear axle pivot pin is made as part of the front axle assembly. If that's true then I'm forced to assume someone broke the rear pivot pin and tried to replace it with a pin that is completely incorrect. Thanks guys for...
