Hello all,

Late 1070 only getting 1800 psi at the remotes at idle and 1850 psi at 2k rpm.

I'd like to see 2250 psi for lifting a discbine.

New pump is on the way, but I'd like to try shimming the relief valve first. Is there any way to get that relief plug out without removing the entire valve? Those 2 bolts on top are going to be very difficult if not impossible without removing the fuel tank, which I'd like to avoid. I have a service manual, but I thought I'd check here for tips and tricks.

Thank you.

You have to take the valve assembly off the tractor to get to the relief valve. I have used a flex head ratchet to get to the top bolts but it is not easy. You can loosen the rear cab mount bolts and raise the rear of the cab a little, remove the hood first. It makes it easier and you can remove the floor mat and plate and reach through the bottom of cab with an extension. The bottom bolts are a little longer than the top ones, don't get them mixed up or you will have an oil leak - don't ask. Also be sure to replace the o-rings in the relief valve even if they look OK.

Thank you! I will give it a shot.

I did our cab 1070 by removing the seat & the plate under it & worked thru there , 3/8 drive long extension thru the floor plate with a wobble joint , still very difficult & works best with two people but it can be done.

Thank you for replying. I just got it out. Jacked up the cab and got the bolt out. Sure is alot of goofing around for 1 plug and a dime thickness of shims.

I got it out! Jacked up the cab about 4" and got it with a regular ratchet.
