Case 1175 tach cable quit working last year never had time to fix it. Now I do. Got a new cable from ASAP all states ag parts, looks just like the original and fits both ends fine, BUT! I put the end on the tach first then engine end but when i tighten down (finger tight) the end to the block the tack won't work right. It goes up and stays, only way to get it to drop down is to loosen the engine end. If you leave it loose it works, snug it any thing more then loose it is slow and won't hardly move. Idk!?
Could it be just the one from asap is not correct!?
I have one for a 1370 I got from Elmer's should I try that one and see if it's any different!?

Are you SURE there's no short piece of broken cable or debris in either attaching point?

Is the cable square at both ends or is the engine end round with a drive tab?

Best I can see, both ends are square and clear of anything. No I did not lube the cable up at all.
