135 Clutch parts

I received the seal from Canada today. Took about a week. I will install it and then figure out what to do with the clutch. I m hesitant to order the one from this site because it has 12 red springs.

There doesn't seem to be enough room to get the bolts out of the rear main seal carrier. Is the flywheel housing removable? Does the oil pan have to come out?

Thanks Bob. I did not see the hex screws with all the greasy dirt.

New seal installed. Old one pictured below.

Bob...

I know this question has been asked before - and I've read nearly every thread on this topics.

I'm trying to join both castings, and can't get closer than 1.5". I put a couple of long guide *not tight all* bolts, one on each side, to keep it plumb. At one point I think I had the PTO shaft partially home, as I could move the rear PTO shaft with the engine flywheel.

What I've been doing:

Gear in 3 HIGH
PTO in ENGINE

My issue is I can't tell if it's even seated in the pilot bearing, or if the main plate/shaft is seated correctly, after turning the flywheel 1000 times.

Looking through the inspection plate, it looks like the PTO shaft as of right now, is .25" from the clutch pressure plate assembly. If it's that close, can I assume the pilot and main plate are seated correctly?

Further complicating this is I'm by myself and the rocking back and forth always moves something.

When you attached the clutch assembly to the flywheel, are you sure the PILOT entered the PILOT BEARING in the Crankshaft ?
Did you by chance try the PILOT BEARING for proper fit over the end of the PILOT SHAFT before assembly,as well as the Transmission input shaft?
Did you remove the compression cap screws that keep the assembly as one unit after you attached the clutch ASSEMBLY TO THE FLYWHEEL?
Sounds like it would be prudent to withdraw the Transmission from the engine and check to verify how deep the PILOT extends. Take something like a screwdriver and check the depth of the assembly, as well as the pilot bearing.? You should make 100 % sure the PILOT is all the way into the pilot Bearing. A small amount of lubrication to the Transmission input shaft is a good idea.

The short version is I got it back together. It's very difficult with one person. I used big deans method of some 7/16 all thread, one each side, with nuts, to keep it lined up.

Brush hogged for about an hour and all seems well. First time I can park it on my concrete floor with NO leaks. For now anyways. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Hello jtxn. I've currently got my Massey 203 split and have some of the same clutch related questions you had in this posting. I think my 203 has the same dual clutch your 135 has, and am looking for the correct clutch kit. Also my clutch has 12 black springs (probably red) and is very hard to depress the clutch pedal. What clutch kit did you end up going with ? How many and what color springs ? Are you satisfied with how your clutch operates ? Thank you.
