1942 A shift lever/fork sequence installation

Hello Folks, I removed the shift lover, to inspect the gears and bearings. Now I’m having difficulties aligning the shifter with the selecting rods, do I line up all the notches in the shift rods. I’m working outside and temperatures in a teens trying to get this resolved. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, all the notches are to be centered in the neutral position. You can rock the wheels to verify. Then install the shifter inside the notches.

Old Ford has it; all aligned in neutral. then install lever. That lover might not fit so well.
