1948 Case LA water mixing in the oil

I recently purchased a 1948 Case LA with the 6.6L gas motor in it. $1700 for a good running, goes into all gears and still has original paint tractor was enough to sell me on it.

Upon getting it home and running it for a bit, I went to check the oil and it was a milkshake. Coolant is perfectly clean. The tractor does run hot but I suspect this is an issue with the water pump or flow issue in the radiator I can sort out myself. Has anyone had issues with the oil and water mixing like this on these tractors? Looking for a starting point on what to replace. Would rather not pull the head off to find out its not the head gasket if they have seals that go bad in other places. Thanks.
