2-105 overheating, what I found

My White 2-105 has been overheating and I finally got a chance to check it out. Pulled the thermostats and found out they were backward. The thermostat that goes in the left side needs to be a bypass type with a roughly 5/8-inch diameter disc on the bottom that covers an opening in thermostat housing when open. The thermostat in the right side is a typical thermostat. Mine were reversed. tested them in a metal can on stove, with the boss's permission and reassembled. Blew out the radiator while the Sheetmetal was off. Tested the tractor shredding some cornstalks and success. After shredding a few hours, noticed I have engine oil leaking from head gasket area on center right side. Isn't it great working on old tractors, fix one problem and another one shows up. Steve.

Is a 105 just an 1855 with different sheet metal? Not familiar with those at all.

Some of those manifold bolts go right through into area of the head where they could get some oil seeping past the threads, so don't get too worried.
