240 Massey Ferguson tractor lift arms issue

I’ve got an issue with the lift arms going down on a 240 Massey Ferguson tractor when there's an attachment on it after shutting the tractor off. It goes down fairly quickly. If you stand on the bush hog while tractor is cranked it will go down as well. What is wrong?

First off, I am going to assume the 240 3 point hitch system is basically the same as the earlier models that I am more familiar with. The symptoms you describes are due to an internal leak somewhere between the pump and the cylinder that raises the 3ph. It could be the o-rings on the standpipe that connects the pump to that little rectangular cover below the right front corner of the seat, or the o-ring between the top cover, or the cylinder itself. The best thing to do is drain the transmission oil down below the lowest bolt of the round cover by your right heel, as you sit on the tractor, take that cover off and look in there with a light and see if you can locate where the leak is as the 3ph is sinking down.
