2610D hydraulic lift drops

Hello. Thanks in advance. I have recently experienced a loss of lift control on my 2610D. Lever/implement drops to its lowest position suddenly. I can reposition the lift to all up or all down, but it will not hold in an intermediate position as it has always done in the past. The hydraulic fluid level is good, open/close control is open. I have exercised the lift but to no effect.
Any advice would be appreciated.

So you are saying the control lever itself will stay in position but the lift will not... of the lever wont stay where you put it?

I would check the linkage first to be sure that nothing has come loose or broken.
