3-point system removal (externals)

i have a 1952 to-30 that i will only be using to pull a trailer. would anything in the driving functionality of the tractor be affected by removing the quadrant and lift arm mechanism? leaving the pto in the off position does not affect the drivability of the machine so i would think that
removing the un-needed components would be ok. i would fabricate a cover for the resulting hole in the housing below the seat. thoughts?
