444 to buy or not to buy?

Hey guys what do you think? I found this add on Craig's List this morning.

Massey Harris 444 with all hydraulic loader. Engine made a light rattling sound in the front (spun crank bearing?), but all new parts are available to repair. Cloquet farm implement dealer Hongisto said they can work on it and quoted shop time of $45 per hr last spring. The rear live hydraulics work. 3 point hitch and fixed hitch. 42 hp at draw bar. 5 speeds forward one reverse. High and Low range. It was great before this happened. I hurt my back and can no longer use it.

I can't view the pictures where I'm at.

How much, and are you close to the 444?

Oh yah, that info would help. Asking price is $950. It around 100 miles away.

Is the needed repair a major thing?

What is the difference between the 444 and the 44?

It's bored out a little more than the 44 Special. Slightly different paint pattern, more chrome ornaments.

44- 5spd. trans. 444- Hi and low side on lwr 4 gears.

444- spin out rims
444-hand clutch for lpto.
