484 hydraulic issues

Evening folks I have a new to me 484 with an 1850 loader when I got it the previous owner had only used for front end loader work over the last 10 years he had the aux lines capped at the control valve so I connected new hoses and couplers and tossed a new snowblower on the back I have 3 issues
1. Remotes only work in the upward direction I have to swap hoses in order to turn chute the other way someone has been at the adjustment on the back end of the valve the lever doesn’t feel right it denents then will stick in the downward position.
2. With the blower lifted the lift arms will settle and jerk back up a half an inch or so it only seems to do it after turning the chute.
3.steering is stiff and random times doesn’t seem to be load or rpm dependant sometimes it steers great other times it’s stiff.
I serviced the filter and added new fluid I have about 4 gallons extra to account for loader demand, I know this is a lot I feel like it’s all related to the aux hydraulic valve what do you folks think?

Down on the MCV is a large hex nut, this is the priority valve for the steering. It's probably all gummed up [mine was] from the hyd. fluid not being changed for way too long. You need to remove the valve, clean it & reinstall. Oil may come out when you pull it - I don't remember.

Hello, depending if your 484 is assembled in Louisville, KY, USA or Doncaster, UK the remote hydraulic may be different. Since you have an IH 1850 loader on it, I am thinking you live in Canada or the 484 was an IH Doncaster, UK made delivered to Canada. How is the loader connected to the hydraulic system? Can you tell if the remote hydraulic valve has 3 or 4 bolts connecting it to the hydraulic housing? If it is a Doncaster tractor, the remote valve should have 3 bolts and have the following positions, from rear to front, Lift, Neutral, Down, Float with Lock.
Re hiccupping of 3PT, make sure that Draft Control (Closest to Fender Lever) is fully forward, can be leaking O-ring seals in 3PT lift cylinder or adjustment inside 3PT housing.
Re Steering as @Mike Van said priority valve is sticking.

Yea she only produces flow in the lift position and then makes a shudder in any other position judging by the vise grip marks on the adjuster somebody has been trying to fix this for a while I’m gonna try a used control valve from the folks at fawcett tractor and go from there and yes I’m from New Brunswick Canada picked the old tractor up she is in pretty fair shape good tires and strong engine has sat around a pile in the last 15 years I’m sure once I get these little issues cleaned up it will be great

Good looking 484, yes good idea to get a used one from Fawcett, probably a broken O-ring lodge in it somewhere.
My brother near Perth, ON has five of those IH Doncaster, UK tractors including 454 and 495 like yours. Some hints with using a loader on the 484, keep those 4 big bolts on the front axle tight and lube the front wheel bearing at least once a year and more often if you are going through water over the depth of the axle.
PS, I have spent a lot of time over the years working in Moncton, NB, always enjoyed working there, everyone is friendly.

I’m about 35 mins from Moncton little spot called prosser brook my father in law has a 674 on his small beef farm and it has been tough as nails figured this one would serve me great looking after a few driveways and a little front end loader work. I’ll keep you updated on how I make out once the new aux valve arrives
