Hello Perkins, welcome to YT! Thought maybe a Ford guy would jump in here and help you out. They must all be “mama’s boys” just my twisted humor. Well since you’re new here we have no idea of your mechanical knowledge or experience. I can only assume you know how to adjust the free play and all of that. Also that you installed it correctly, the spring cushion center needs to be installed away from the flywheel where it has space inside the clutch cover? I would think if this is wrong you would notice this when you pulled it apart. What was wrong when you pulled it to replace it the first time? Did you compare the new to old parts, did they all look to be reasonably the same dimensions? Probably doesn’t matter but where did you get the parts?
Lastly, there is really no way for you to know this. Adding a reply onto another old thread generally doesn’t help you if you started your own thread like this, most often just adds confusion.

It seems that the clutch disc can only fit one way, if i turn it around it won't sit flat on fly wheel.

I replaced mine ['41 9n] a couple of years ago and noticed that the retainer springs were worn. I replaced them along with the clutch kit from this site. It looks and works well.

Thanks for the feed back, I'm new to this forum. I am a 30 year mechanic on a nascar team but am falling short on this tractor. I grew up in Richfield MN. Ok I replaced the clutch because i rebuilt the engine and wanted new parts as it was apart. pressure plate and disc all seem the same, throw out bearing and carrier measure the same. And it seems the clutch disc will only go in one way, if its backwards it hits the crank. Acts like it needs a 1/2'' shim behind the throw out bearing.

No clutch job is complete without replacing the output shaft seal and gasket in my opinion. Very easy and inexpensive to do. If the seal hasn't been replaced, it will need to be soon, and you'll have to tear everything apart once again.
