HI all,
I've got a 1966 530CK serial number 8293577 that I'm nursing back to usable condition. I noticed that my right spindle had substantial play. Unfortunately I discovered the grease has long been dried out and the spindle has heavy wear on the bearing surface.
I am looking for a replacement spindle and trying to figure out an exact range of models and years I could source one from. According to the manual A57248 is the part number. One website I came across states all 530CK from 1/1960 - 12/1966 use the same spindle. Is this true? I found someone relatively close to me that's parting out the earlier style 530CK with the "eyebrow" front end and the single assist cylinder style front axle. I believe that is the 60-64 year range. Mine of course has the dual cylinder full hydro setup being a '66. Will the 60-64 spindle fit my later 530 even though the axle as a whole is slightly different?
My other option is to weld the bearing surfaces up and turn back to size. But I feel this was probably a heat treated surface and I cannot replicate that so it would be a temporary repair at best.
I could use a few other parts and pieces as well if anyone near Georgia has a parts machine.
Thanks
