55 NH rake wheel hub

Anyone know where a person might find a wheel hub for a 55 rake in the Mn,SD,Ia area? The casting number is 33941 as far as I can tell. It has 6 bolts unlike the hub for a 56 which has 4. Mine could be fixed but I was hoping to find a good used one.

Those hubs have a bushing instead of bearings. If the bushing is not worn too bad a new bushing might solve a lot of problems. The backing plate and parts in it may be worn. There is a spring loaded dog that engages the notches in the hub and keeps the rake basket turning during turns. There also is a flat spring with a curved end that hooks over a rod that is welded to a large pin to fasten the dog out of engagement so the rake can be pulled at higher speed on the road between fields. If the dog slips off the spring at speed it will probable tear up the hub. The dog can get worn and not engage properly.

It been years since I had a 55 rake so I might not be clear on some things. I have had to replace all the parts mentioned including the hub at one time or another. I did not have to replace the axle. I did have to replace the driveshaft.

Thanks but I am aware of all that. The inside part of the hub where the bushing goes is broken off and missing. Welding shop can fix it but it wouldn't be cheap. NH has a new one available for a ridiculous price (more than I payed for the rake). Hoping to find a good used hub in the upper Midwest. It's in pretty good shape considering the newest ones are 60 years old.

I had the same problem and shopped CL until I found a used 56 rake that had a bad gearbox. gave me the needed parts for my 55. Price for that hub is insane from NH.
