The only thing i have left to service on my 1991 Ford 5610 is the power steering filter and fluid, before i do this i wanted to check with you guys and see if the cover will move over enough to pull the filter out of the canister?? The two metal lines to the right of the filter canister might keep it from moving over enough to change the filter. See picture below.

Also, what is the best fluid to put back in the power steering canister? I've heard AT fluid, power steering fluid, hydraulic oil, etc....

be careful not to warp the cover... and yes, you can use about any fluid in the power steering.... IF... the pump is leaking fluid into the engine, then and only then... I used diesel motor oil... Otherwise, atf, power steering fluid, tractor rated hydraulic fluid all will meet or exceed the original spec for power steering. Be sure to hand start the flare nuts so you dont cross-thread them as they can be a booger to line up. Especially when you have bent the line out of the way and are now trying to re-alien it.
