641 clutch

I have a 641 that i have had since 1979. In recent years the gears have been grinding with the clutch depressed. I push the pedal down slowly and give everything time to stop turning before trying to engage the shift lever ,sometimes that helps but not always. I have another 641 ,an 841 and several 8n's but only have this problem with this 641 and it is my favorite tractor. Any help appreciated .

I have the same problem with my NAA. I’m planning to split it to replace the clutch and reface the flywheel.

Have to split it and inspect. Could be sized pilot bearing or sticky clutch disc from an oil leak. Doesn't really matter, once you have it apart you'll replace everything.

Did you check clutch adjustment?
