Allis G differential

A friend put a Kubota engine in an Allis G and of course the engine turns the wrong way.
Can you flip the differential so it will work.
I know on a Model T you could do this.

Does the Kubota NOT turn in the "standard" clockwise looking at the front crankshaft pulley direction as the original engine did?

That being said I'm reasonably sure the differential can be "flipped".

Perhaps ot already has been, causing the issue at hand?

The more I think about it, the more I believe you are correct.
Sounds like it was flipped before my friend got it.

Richard, ring gear should be on left hand side from factory
Thanks Joe.

Well wore out, this Kubota engine does indeed turn in a counter clockwise direction.
Don't know why.
It came off some kind of riding batwing mower.
I have not looked at it myself, but that is what my friends are telling me.

Counterclockwise at the flywheel end is normal.
Like I say, I have not been there to look at it myself, but they are telling me that it runs backwards to any engine they have seen.
And they are both good ole time mechanics.
Gonna have to go look myself.

I think the engine in a G drives from the front of the engine. Not flywheel end or maybe maybe it is reversed too??
Roger, G engine is mounted in tractor backwards, and drives from the flywheel. Engine also runs counter-clockwise

''Engine also runs counter-clockwise"

That's a matter of "point of view", as you crank it CLOCKWISE at the crankshaft pulley end to start it as with 96% of engines!

Any confusion here is because the G engine is mounted on the back of the tractor not the front. With the same engine rotation it would be rotating the other way if mounted on the front, looking forward for both locations. In the picture above if you turned the engine around, looking at the flywheel end, it would be rotating the other way from in the picture because now you are looking at the flywheel end.
