Allis G Rear Tires

On 02/18/2018 I posted a message requesting help on where I could buy rear tires for my Allis G. I got 3 responses One each from JoeM(GA), David R. Inman and K-Mo. I want to thank each of them for taking the time to respond, THANK YOU. I ended up buying tires and tubes on Ebay from Tucker Tire. They cost a total of $683.00 including shipping. I received them in Denver on 03/03/2018.
This tractor was borrowed and used by the Denver Botanical Gardens in their display at the Denver Home & Garden Show which just ended today. You might be able to tell that I am real proud of my cute little tractor. I wish I could attach some pictures, but I don't know how to do that yet.

The Tucker Tire folks are great to work with! I bought 8 rears from them about 10 years ago, couldn't touch their price anywhere, and they delivered them to my work on their truck on their next trip down to Atlanta. Good, fair folks

Agree - but what you gonna do if locals don't have them. Now I recall that it was Tucker that I got mine from too. They were dropped off a semi truck at the end of my driveway. Shipping wasn't bad.

Hi guys, I bought from Tucker Tire as a last resort. First I tried to buy from Peerless Tire, a regional retail tire dealer headquartered here in Denver. They tried and tried but could not find a source for what I needed. Next I tried to find them at the Goodyear regional distribution center, here in Denver. Same result. Claimed they couldn't find them. I tried to buy locally but I couldn't find them locally. What is a person supposed to do? Tucker Tire was easy to deal with and the trucking company was also easy to deal with.

OK, I found two 6 x 30 tires from Tucker tires in Tennessee 250 each hundred dollars for shipping so I ordered two of them. They said they’d be in their shop tomorrow morning and I’ll probably get them in a week but I got them. thank you much for the advice. My next question is can I use a 12 V coil on a 6 V system for my Alice G?

No, you cannot use a 12-volt coil on a 6-volt system and expect it to work properly. If it is a 12-volt coil that says external resistor required, it might work if you if you do not use an external resistor. A coil marked "12-volts external resistor required" is generally a 6 volt coil. If it is marked "12 volts No external resistor required", it is a true 12 volt coil. You can check the resistance between the primary terminals a 6-volt coil shoild be about 1.5 ohms. A 12-volt coil should be 3 to 4 ohms.

As I said, I’m 89 years old and I’m in the process of redoing an Alice G gives me something to do. I’ve got macular degeneration and it’s hard for me to see but with these little gees you can put her do them with your eyes shut so that’s why IAs I said, I’m 89 years old and I’m in the process of redoing a Alice G gives me something to do. I found the tires, I can find someone to put them on anyway thanks for responding everybody. I’ll send you a picture if I can.
