Alternative headlight locations for an 861 w/ FEL

This 861 came to me with a loader and some day I'll put it back on. Where do you guys put the headlights so they will do the most good? Seems like most are mounted on the crash guard of the FEL, I'd think the bucket and loader arms would always block most of the light.

I'm toying with the idea of mounting generic led work lights to the rear fenders, 2 facing forwards and 1 or 2 to the rear. My sun canopy will stay on year round, those brackets are already bolted to the top area of the fenders taking up space. Lights would have to mount between the 11 and 1 o'clock positions, which might make getting on/off the seat kinda clumsy.

Looking forward to hearing some different opinions, thanks guys.

I see a Gleaner in the background. Great machines. The JD guys cut corn and plant at the same time then they have to turn the cows loose to clean up all the corn laying on the ground.

Assuming you have converted to 12v neg ground?

Given how cheap lights have gotten, and if you really need lights, I’m a fan of multiple locations. Like you’ll see on new tractors today. A few on the fenders, and a few up front.

Seems the loader itself is always in the way, a few on the loader arms up front are nice, need to route the wire of course.

Lights real close to the driver on the fender make for a lot of bugs way too close many summer nights.
