Another tractor.

It’s a bit of a long story but this is my latest acquisition. This little beauty is one of the tractors that belonged to a good friend of mine and a fellow “stock” vintage tractor puller. And I mean stock. He passed away suddenly a year ago. Any how long story cut short this little row crop will fit in nicely with my 44 collection which includes a 44 six and two regular 44. Need a diesel and a propane to finish it off. Any how I’m rambling so I’ll quit.

Nice original unit ! Hope it stays like that. Lol. Them 44’s are classy lookin as I have always liked that styling.

Nice. Even has the implement lift under the seat. I have the arm and the safety cover for that splined shaft. I'll trade you for a brake arm. ;) And the choke parts you already sent!! "Rambling" is good. We love the stories. steve

That sounds like a great deal to me Steve. Thanks and I’ll be in touch about that arm. Maybe if you have time you could shoot me some measurements of that arm.

The splined shaft on my 101 is just under 1.5" od, splines are about an inch and a half long, with a bolt groove cut all the way around at the halfway point in the splines. The arm is 4" center of splined shaft to center of 7/8" pin, overall length about 6-1/4 inches. I'll get you a couple of pics after supper. Both the arm and cover came with my 101 Jr. I also have a pic I found of the rock shaft that was the rest of the lift. steve Arm and cover.jpg

That's a good looking Massey.

Real good in fact.

My apologies Steve. I meant the measurements on the brake lever that you need. I should have mentioned that.

OK, how about this: The brake lever I need is casting number/part number 15403A, stamped on the part. According to my parts book they are interchangeable side to side. This one is right at 6" long, the splined end is 7/8", the linkage hole is 7/16" (which may be a worn out 3/8") and the spring hole is inboard of the linkage hole. I've seen the spring hole at the very end of the lever on some, but that isn't right for mine. Thanks for sticking with this wild goose chase. steve

Okay Steve. Couldn’t see a casting number when I quickly took a look this morning but I believe this one is what you’re looking for. I will measure at a later time.

Nice looking old Massey. Most around here in Ontsrio are bashed up and rusted away. The lift mechanism is for a mounted row cultivator....depressing the pedal lifts it up, depressing it again drops the unit. I think you need the pto in gear to use it. It looks like it's missing the forward pivot for the front axle, it bolts to the underside of the tub and goes around the axle, centering on the grease fitting. I have an identical tractor in my shed if you need anything for reference. Good score!

Thank you it is a pretty good tractor. Good to know you have one centash. I know I’m going to need a bit of help with pictures of the throttle linkage. It’s been altered. Thanks for now.

Hey Stevieb. I pulled that LH brake lever off tonight. We had 2.5 inches of rain the last two days so it gave me a bit of time to get some little things done. I’m sure it’s exactly what you need. Will be in touch to figure out how to get it to you.

It does look exactly right. If you will, stick it in the mail and I'll reimburse you. Are we trading levers, and that guard to fit your implement lift? If you want it soon, I can box them up and get them going from this direction, too. I'll text you my mailing address.

Did you get all your crop combined? steve

We still have about 1000 acres to harvest yet Steve. Slow going on the peas for sure.
