AR "All Fuel" factory configuration?

Good day!

As I continue to tinker with this '47 AR and ponder it's history I'm curious about the fuel system.

Despite being equipped with a fuel tank having 2 separate compartments, the rear small tank has a plug in the bottom & there is no 3-way selector valve installed athough the cast bracket is still attached to the fuel tank assy. on the L.S.

The tractor has a DLTX41 carburetor that is directly connected to a sediment bowl on the main portion of the fuel tank with a steel line that does not appear homemade given the quality of the bends.

So, my question is did this tractor originally come set up for "all fuel" use and, somewhere along the line, it got "deleted"? LOL OR would that have been delivered from the factory that way?

Would having the serial number research done by 2 Cylinder Magazine specify any of those types of details? Looking on their website I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask for feedback from anyone who has actually used their services.....

TIA

Most like was changed by one of the owners it has had over the years

That would be my guess also. If it has the dual tank, it would have been functional when the tractor was new. Someone changed it at some point. I'm preparing to do the same thing on my '36 unstyled A.

Thanks for the replies!

So, would all of these tractors, at least the the unstyled ARs, have left the factory configured as "all fuel" units?

Two tanks, left factory a all-fuel tractor. It would have had an all-fuel carburetor, that would let the tractor to start on gasoline and you would change the fuel over to work on distillate fuel, kerosine or diesel.

Some interesting info I found on Robert's Carburetor website......

My tractor S/N 267906 should have been equipped with the DLTX19 "all fuel" carb yet it has the DLTX41 "gasoline" carb which is listed for AR tractors S/N 272000 and up.

If that information is accurate then someone definitely did an "all fuel" delete, carburetor and all.

Thanks for that info.

That certainly conflicts with what is posted on Robert's website. What exactly does that service bulletin pertain to?

Might want to look at the numbers from Roberts again.
